Episode 7 of Ascendance of a Bookworm season 3 is titled “Delia and Dirk” and is focused around a mysterious boy that has been abandoned but taken into care by Myne and her team at the Cathedral.
Unfortunately, Dirk develops a fever and rashes all over his body for unknown reasons. Under the guidance of Heidi and Josef, Myne continues to experiment with a variety of colors for her printing press. We could see many more adventures in the upcoming episode.

The upcoming episode will be titled “Unsettling Movements” and there will be a follow-up to episode 7 at some point. There has been increased speculation that Dirk will be adopted, and that’s what the story will be about.
We’re curious to see how everybody will react to this news. There’s no doubt that Myne will be trying to keep Dirk from being adopted.

Episode 7 Recap
Delia has taken full responsibility for looking after Dirk at the Cathedral ever since he arrived. She is concerned about him getting into any trouble, so she becomes quite worried when he suddenly develops rashes all over his body.
He begins feeling much better after drinking goat milk, but all of his symptoms suddenly disappear. They ask Delia everything that has happened so far later on when Myne and her associates gather there.
Others smile when they learn Dirk has not shown any symptoms anymore, but Myne appears visibly upset as if something is troubling her. While Myne is watching Dirk closely, he again begins to cry, and rashes suddenly appear throughout his body.
Delia is told by the blue-robed priestess to feed him goat milk again. It is a thrill to see Dirk’s symptoms vanish right before everyone’s very eyes this time. Myne’s associates are confused and cannot figure out what is happening, but she already realizes what is going on.
As soon as possible, she tells Fran to find a time to meet with the High Priest so they can discuss what’s on her mind. At the same time, Myne talks to Lutz privately about how to catch as many tau fruits as possible from the forest and she asks him to bring them back to her.
The fruit will come in handy later when treating Dirk. Myne meets Julia and Josef to tell them the results of their experiments after she completes a day’s work at the Cathedral.
Having successfully figured out how to produce a few specific colors of ink, the blue-robed priestess tells them the good news. Afterward, they use the products on a vorlin and a trombe paper to test their effectiveness. Sadly, the ink fades quickly, disappointing Myne and her friends.
In addition, when the color combinations yield black, they are only discouraged further. They feel better, though, when they learn that an agent can fix their problems.
Dirk is taken to the orphanage by Wilma. Even though she wanted to take care of him herself, she seems quite disappointed to not be around as much as she would have liked, especially after he became ill twice directly in front of her.
Her shock when she sees Wilma and the other caretakers neglecting Dirk when she meets Myne and Fran later is palpable. After that, Delia discovers that Dirk is being put up for adoption.
