Ascendance of a Bookworm gave every book nerd a chance to see themselves as the hero they are. Book lovers might not look like a big deal, but they hold power to change the world, and this novel series proved it like a pro.
On December 10, the series’ 31st volume came out, bearing some sad news. It revealed that the Ascendance of a Bookworm novel will conclude in 2023.
While this was a piece of news that fans did not receive well, it got us thinking about when and how the anime will end.
Considering that its latest season covered the novel’s seventh volume in its last episode, we can safely say that the anime isn’t ending anytime soon. To adapt over 20 books, the anime must make at least five more seasons before it’s even near the conclusion.
Let’s not forget that the light novel’s 32nd and 33rd volumes are scheduled to ship next year in spring and winter, respectively. The anime has a long way to go right now and has only touched the tip of the iceberg.
In the anime, we’ve reached the part where Myne’s brother has been born, and she’s now involved in making more books due to her success in making ink. While Myne wants to spend more time with her loved ones, fate has other plans and forces her to make tough decisions for the greater good.
Moreover, the whole situation with Dirk and him having the Devouring became complicated when the High Priest couldn’t find him a family.
However, Myne is determined to make things right for everyone and bring about some innovation in the current printing style of books. She’s on a path to revolutionize knowledge and make it available for the common folk, and I’m sure she’ll be successful.
If you’re a book lover like Myne, I highly recommend you check out this series. It’s a fun read filled with various fantasy elements and a girl obsessed with books and reading.
As for the anime, it won’t end anytime soon, and we’ll get more seasons in the coming years, so the light novel ending isn’t so bad after all.
