Arifureta Light Novel to End with Volume 13; How will it affect the anime?

Arifureta, one of the most loved isekai anime, was first serialized as a web novel and then a light novel series. After running for 12 volumes, the creator of the franchise has finally announced that the novel’s climax is approaching.

Volume 12 of Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest was released in Japan on January 25, 2022. In the author’s comments section, Ryo Shirakome had stated that the novel would end with the next volume.

Arifureta’s light novel would end with a total of 13 volumes. So, what does it mean for the anime? Will it end soon too?

Hold your horses because the anime has miles to go before ending. Now, let’s see how much time it will take for the anime to catch up to the novel.

Season 1 of Arifureta adapted four volumes. If season 2 adapts four more volumes, there would still be five volumes left.

So, season 3 will definitely happen, and with the recent movie craze in the anime industry, we might even get a new film as an extra topping. Otherwise, a two-cour anime can also wrap up the series.

The original web novel of the franchise is divided into two parts. The first part consists of the main story and ended in October 2015. The second part is a sequel that contains side stories and is still ongoing.

So, even after receiving season 3 of Arifureta, you can expect different OVAs to be released. Nagumo will have quite a collection of wives by then, and some slice-of-life episodes will be on their way.
