Before your patience runs out, I’ll confirm once and for all that the new manga is indeed soccer-based. With the Tokyo Olympics heat still on, the series has arrived just in time!

With new and quirky characters, the mangaka duo is set to debut a work that might be the next favorite of all sports genre lovers.

Hiroaki Igano and Kaya Tsukiyama are collaborating to launch the new manga, iCONTACT, on 25th August. The series will debut its first chapter in the 39th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine.

Now you might think that the authors have already created a soccer manga before, so how will this one be any different? has commented that,

If the characters and playing styles change, soccer will become completely different!

Kaya Tsukiyama

I trust the veteran mangaka to handle the plot and style with ease to provide us with an experience that will be completely different from their previous work.

This time, the manga is not about a soccer prodigy, like most sports manga tend to focus on. It is about a player who isn’t particularly good at any of the soccer positions. Thus he ends up as a benchwarmer.

However, his fate soon changes. Not by a new coach or a new soccer recruit, but by a genius online gamer! The introduction seems really intriguing. After all, how will an online game player spark the might of inspiration in our protagonist?

Does this online gamer actually have some badass moves up his sleeve? We will get to know when the manga launches this month!

About iContact
