Aramis Knight, who plays Kareem, a.k.a Red Dagger, in the MCU TV series Ms. Marvel, opens up about his possible return in Season 2 of the Disney+ superhero drama.
With only one episode left in the TV series, Ms. Marvel is wrapping up her initial entry into the MCU and readying her story to take off next in the 2023 film, The Marvels, featuring Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonnah Parris).
Ms. Marvel sees Pakistani-American teen Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) discover cosmic superpowers and figure out how to use them as danger lurks at every corner, to test the young new superhero to the best of her abilities. The series also stars Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Rish Shah, Yasmeen Fletcher, Mohan Kapoor, Zenobia Shroff, and Laurel Mardsen.
Ms. Marvel finds an ally in Kareem, a.k.a Red Dagger, in her fight against the evil in the TV show. Aramis Knight has taken on the role of MCU’s Red Dagger. In the comics, Ms. Marvel and Red Dagger have a healthy alliance, which the MCU series has established in Episodes 4 and 5. They will part ways for the time being, but more might be in store for this team.
Marvel has only renewed a couple of shows for a second season, namely Loki and What If, while Moon Knight, WandaVision, Hawkeye, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have all been labeled limited series with only one season. Ms. Marvel has not been renewed for a second season yet, but Aramis Knight has cleared up his return.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Aramis Knight has assured fans of his return if the show were to come back for Season 2.
Yeah, if there is a Season 2, I will be back.
Aramis Knight, Ms. Marvel.
Aramis Knight’s promise to don the Red Dagger mask is conditional on the return of the series for a second season. Marvel has not made any official announcement for a Season 2 of Ms. Marvel, but we surely know that this is not the end for the Muslim superhero.
With a confirmed return in The Marvels, Kamala will return in 2023, whether the series gets a Season 2 or not. Season 2 will need at least a year to be produced and filmed, resulting in a release timeframe for 2023.
Kamala’s introduction in the MCU was not met with the best of reactions, but considering the possibilities she could explore as a younger superhero in Phase Four, like Spiderman, there are high hopes for a second season.
