This week, Apple TV+ introduced us to its latest dystopian TV series, Silo, landing on the streaming platform on May 5, 2023, with a two-episode premiere.
The sci-fi drama encapsulates a toxic future where a community lives deep underground in the titular Silo, abiding by rules placed upon them for their “protection.” Obviously, that will flip on them soon enough. The series is based on Hugh Howey’s bestseller novel series Wool and is created by Emmy nominee screenwriter Graham Yost (Justified).
The ten-episode series stars Rebecca Ferguson, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and Tim Robbins. Ferguson plays Juliette, an engineer bent on finding the truth about her murdered loved one, but what she doesn’t know is that the truth is far more fatal than lies.
Before I get into the main purpose of this post and tell you where and when you can watch the existing and upcoming episodes, please watch the show’s trailer below:
Apple TV+ released the first two episodes, “Freedom Day” and “Holston’s Pick,” on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 12 A.M. PT. The remaining episodes will come out weekly every Friday at the same time until June 30, 2023, which will mark the release of the season 1 finale. The series hasn’t been renewed for a second season, but that comes later.
According to the release schedule, the next (third) episode, “Machines,” will hit Apple TV+ on May 12, 2023. Following that, “Truth,” “The Janitor’s Boy,” “The Relic,” “The Flame Keepers,” “Hanna,” “The Getaway,” and “Outside” will release periodically. The series is exclusively available for streaming on Apple TV+, as is the case for all Apple TV Originals like Silo.
