Apple TV+’s Hijack has been able to do one thing better than most creatives of the genre; maintain the suspense without giving much away.
Only two episodes are left, and we still don’t know what the endgame will be. Our hero Sam Nelson has been trying his level best to jeopardize the plans of the terrorists and save the lives of millions, and this week’s episode seems no different. However, Sam manages to do something interesting this time!

1. Episode 6 Synopsis/Speculation
Next week’s episode will make or break the series, as there are so many unanswered questions, and we are running out of time!
Sam Nelson’s unwavering persona takes a massive hit in episode 5 when he realizes that the hijackers won’t think twice before massacring his entire family to make ends meet. This forces him to halt his makeshift plan of landing in the Hungarian airspace by using Stuart’s emotional weakness for his stabbed brother.
However, the damage has already been done. The episode concludes with two men breaking into Sam’s house.
Will they be able to get hold of Sam’s little son? If they do, that will be the final nail in the coffin for Sam and his heroics.
Or is there another nuke that master negotiator Sam has under his belt?
Also, we finally know what the ‘demand’ is! The masterminds ordered the release of two convicts, Edgar Janssen and John Bailey-Brown, in exchange for the safety of the flight.
Will the home minister accept the demands? Or will this end in a bloodbath on both sides? Either way, the ending is going to be epic!

5. Hijack Episode 5 Recap
The fifth episode is the aftermath of the release of the hijackers’ demands. The hijackers want the two leaders of their crime organization, the Cheapside Firm, to be freed from prison before the plane lands.
The Cheapside Firm is involved in the international drug trade, sex trafficking, and illegal weapons. Their leaders, Edgar Janssen, and John Bailey-Brown are serving 35-year sentences.
Meanwhile, on the plane, Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) devises a dangerous plan as a final attempt to save himself and the passengers.
He discovers that Stuart and Lewis are brothers and uses this information to emotionally manipulate Stuart into landing the plane in Hungary.
After some intense moments, Stuart finally agrees to Sam’s plan, as he becomes emotionally surcharged because of brotherly love.
However, Lewis learns about the emergency landing and kills himself in a shocking turn of events, fearing that the Cheapside Firm will kill his parents if they fail their mission.
On the ground, DI Daniel interrogates Stuart’s mother, Elaine. She reveals that the Cheapside Firm killed her husband under suspicion of being a police informant. She then escapes from the police custody.
The authorities also discover the dead bodies of Neela, her family, and Abdullah in Dubai. They realize that they are dealing with a ruthless and dangerous threat.
The episode ends with a cliffhanger, as Sam decides to abort the landing in Hungary and take control of the plane. He tells Anna to fly to London instead, hoping to expose the Cheapside Firm and end the hijacking once and for all.

Hijack is an upcoming British thriller miniseries created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith. It will premiere on Apple TV+ on June 28, 2023.
Idris Elba plays the main character, Sam Nelson. Other cast members include Archie Panjabi, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles, and Mohamed Elsandel.
The story follows Flight KA29, hijacked from Dubai to London during its seven-hour journey. Corporate negotiator Sam Nelson, a passenger on the plane, must try to use his professional skills to save everyone on board.
