Appare-Ranman! Episode 9: Release Date, Preview, Watch Online

With Kosame overcoming his fears and taking revenge for Hototo in the previous episode, he has gained back his confidence again!

The Trans-America Wild Race continues as the racers have currently reached Colorado and take a break there. 

But they cannot relax just yet as Gil and the sponsors are set to turn the Trans-America Wild Race into a tragedy, how will Appare and the racers overcome the new obstacles?

1. Episode 9 Release Date

Episode 9 of the Appare-Ranman! Anime, titled “Short Break,” will be released on Friday, August 28, 2020.  

In the next episode, the racers take a break and enjoy their reunion at Denver, Colorado! 

I. Is Appare-Ranman! on a Break This Week?

No, episode 9 of the Appare-Ranman! Anime will be released as per its schedule; thus, no such delay is announced.

The anime comes out weekly every Friday.

2. Episode 9 Preview & Speculation

The preview of episode 9, titled “Short Break,” showed Dylan walking past a shop in Denver, and Appare was talking to someone while fixing his car.

Seth, the organizer of the race, was shown to be talking down to Appare and Kosame again. 

The public made way or instead ran away being afraid of Tristan’s appearance with the gangster metallic mask on, who ended up getting his food without waiting in the line.

Hototo has lunch with Chase, who was gulping down his food, and all the racers hit the bathhouse. 

Kosame chats with TJ, Al, and Chase while Appare enjoys floating on water with the raccoon Hototo resting on his belly.

The episode will show the racers resting in their eight-hour break-in Denver! 

But Gil and the sponsors have made nasty schemes to block the participants from winning the Trans-America Wild Race, how will Appare and his friends put an end to the storm that was brewing?  

3. Recap of Episode 8

I. The Murder of the Racers

Episode 8, titled “HEAVY RAIN,” begins with Appare fixing his car and Kosame waking up to the noise in the morning in Nevada.

Appare falls asleep after working all night, so Kosame drives the car unsteadily to the start point, but Appare takes over after waking up. 

Soon drive up the center road, but Al and the others stop when they find the other racers slaughtered in the middle of the road. Richard, who was still breathing, fills them on the details of the accident caused by cowboys on horses. 

They left him alive to pass on the message,

“Everyone participating in this race will die.”

Upon learning that it could be Gil, the snake, Hototo decides to catch him, and to everyone’s surprise, Appare offers to take him to the Post town. 

So, Appare and his friends drive to the town to make sure they are caught for the racers’ safety.

II. Kosame’s Tragic Past

At the town, all the folks refuse to answer Kosame and Al’s questions about the suspicious men, but at a bar, the lady warns them to skip town after hearing about Gil.

Kosame, Xialian, and Hototo get surrounded by Gil’s gang as soon as they leave the bar, and when Al tries to save them, the sheriff himself points the gun at Al. 

The gang beats Appare and his friends, but Kosame unable to draw his sword because his mother’s death by a swordsman flashed by him when Kosame touched it.

Kosame narrated the murder of his mother to the bartender who helped him, feeling hopeless about not being able to protect anyone.

III. Kosame Remains Undefeated! 

The lady helps Kosame gather his thoughts, and with a little encouragement, Kosame leaves determined to save his comrades.

Meanwhile, Appare and the others get tied up with a noose around their neck, knowing Kosame would come for them; Appare tells his friends to wait, and as expected, Kosame enters like a hero. 

He draws his sword and swiftly takes out his opponents, dodging their bullets and slashing through their weapons.

Hototo maddened by revenge attacks the sheriff who killed his father, but Kosame tells him to the story of his mother and does not let Hototo’s hands get stained by an outlaw’s blood. 

Kosame fights the sheriff and cuts through the bullets smoothly, finishing the fight with a final blow.

They take the bartender’s farewell and continue with the race reaching their next rest stop in Denver, Colorado. 

In the end, Gil is shown to be discussing the deaths of the racers he caused with the politicians who warned him to be careful and not get fancy to catch the public’s attention!

5. About Appare-Ranman!

Appare-Ranman! is an original Japanese anime television series produced by PA Works and directed by Masakazu Hashimoto. It premiered on April 10, 2020. Set around the late 19th Century, near the start of the Meiji era in Japan. 

An eccentric inventor and second son of a respected merchant family, Appare Sorano, decides to go on an adventure one day.

However, the samurai Kosame Isshiki is tasked with keeping Appare’s eccentric behavior in check.

While trying to drag Appare back to Japan, Kosame accidentally strands them both at sea, until they are saved at the last moment by a passing American steamship. 

Now stuck in Los Angeles with no money and no easy way to return to Japan, Appare and Kosame decide to enter the “Trans-America Wild Race,” where Appare gets the chance to build a custom automobile and Kosame gets the opportunity to earn enough money to return home. 

The two will have to work together while fighting off rival racers, bandits, and other challenges as they try to win the race.
