During the back-end of the 19th Century, the genius but socially awkward engineer Sorano Appare and the wise yet cowardly samurai Isshiki Kosame find themselves drifting in the sea between Japan and America.
With no money, the duo decides to enter the Trans-America Wild Race to win the prize money to get home.
The two encounter rivals, bandits, and challenges in the wilderness as they race through America, from the starting line in Los Angeles to the finish line in New York, in the steam-powered car they built, follow up on its latest episodes!

3. Recap of Episode 4
I. Jing vs. David
Episode 4, titled “Let it Go,” begins with Kosame serving his usual orders; while listening to the customers chat, he gets the idea that if he sells the car, they could secure the fair to get back to Japan without participating in the race.
He runs back with excitement only to find Appare dismantle it. Appare comes up with an idea to build a machine that will devour Al’s car.
Meanwhile, Jing is frustrated by the condescending attitude of her boss and his driver David against women. Following an altercation, the owner gives her a chance to race David using an old spare racer, before she is fired.
She accepts and takes the car for Appare to fix, so he gets Al to service it.
II. Women are carrying the racer’s spirit!
Jing’s race against David consists of ten laps, Kosame and Al come to spectate their race. They get their tea ready, and the race begins!
She remembers her stimulation practice with Appare and focuses on winning. As expected, Jing starts fiercely but gets taken over by David.
The owner and Al analyze their racing style and amaze the audience with their reasoning skills. Jing takes the lead in the last lap, but David plays dirty and knocks her car to get ahead.
After pulling up, the owner hits David for flow play and appreciates Jing as a real racer. He lends her the number 0 car so that she can enter the Trans-America Wild Race!
Later, Dylan Oldin, the driver at the GM company, learns that Iron Motor Company has hired Crazy TJ as a driver and that Gil the Butcher is also entering the race. The contestants all pose for the newspaper and get ready for the big race!

Appare-Ranman! is an original Japanese anime television series produced by PA Works and directed by Masakazu Hashimoto. It premiered on April 10, 2020.
Set around the late 19th Century, near the start of the Meiji era in Japan. An eccentric inventor and second son of a respected merchant family, Appare Sorano, decides to set off on an adventure one day.
However, the samurai Kosame Isshiki is tasked with keeping Appare’s eccentric behavior in check. While trying to drag Appare back to Japan, Kosame accidentally strands them both at sea, until they are saved at the last moment by a passing American steamship.
Now stuck in Los Angeles with no money and no easy way to return to Japan, Appare and Kosame decide to enter the “Trans-America Wild Race,” where Appare gets the chance to build a custom automobile and Kosame gets the opportunity to earn enough money to return home.
The two will have to work together while fighting off other rival racers, bandits, and other challenges as they try to win the race.
