Apex Legends Switch Version Release Date Revealed Accidentally

Respawn Entertainment may have inadvertently revealed the release date of the Switch version of Apex Legends. A video titled – Apex Legends | Stories from the Outlands – “Good as Gold” on the Apex Legends YouTube channel revealed the release dates.

Fans of Apex Legends have long awaited the game’s arrival on the Nintendo Switch. It was originally scheduled to be released on the Switch in 2020 but had to be delayed. The developer, Respawn Entertainment, decided to delay the game in October 2020.

Director Chad Grenier said that the development team wanted to do justice to the Switch version, which meant it would need more time. But it seems that the fans might be getting the game in a few weeks after all.

Apex Legends accidentally revealed the release date of the Switch version. The Japanese and Danish versions of the video mentioned the release date as February 2, 2021.

Respawn Entertainment uploaded a video on the Apex Legends YouTube channel yesterday titled – Apex Legends | Stories from the Outlands – “Good as Gold”. The video has accidentally revealed the release date for the much-awaited Nintendo Switch version of the game.

The English version does not list the date.

While the Japanese and Danish versions mention that the game will be released on February 2, 2021.

The information has since been removed.

The descriptions for both the versions have been changed, and Nintendo Switch’s mention has been removed. At the end of the original Japanese and Danish versions, all the available consoles were listed. Along with it, a text was also included that said,

“And on February 2, it will be possible to play on Switch at the same time as the start of Season 8!”

Apex Legends

While it is confirmed that Apex Legends would be coming to the Nintendo Switch, it would be best if we take the news with a grain of salt. As there is no official statement from Respawn, it is better not to get our hopes up. Although, with the beginning of Season 8, February 2 seems like the best time to release the Switch version.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play FPS battle-royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Upto 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island, scavenge for weapons and supplies and attempt to kill the other players until they are the only team left.

The game features excellent combat and movement mechanics and is generally regarded as one of the more competent battle-royale games out there. Players can choose one amongst the many pre-prepared character models, each of which has it own playstyle and unique move-set.

The game was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 4, 2019. A Nintendo Switch version released in March 2021. Android and iOS ports are planned for 2022.
