Rejoice as it is finally that time of the year when MAPPA and Isayama give another new part of Attack on Titan anime’s final season, saying it is the last. Although we all are well aware of the reality at this point, we still choose to believe them.
In April 2022, the anime wrapped up season 4’s second part with promises of a return in 2023, and today we finally have an update on the release.
A new trailer by Pony Canyon and NHK has confirmed that Attack on Titan The Final Season anime’s third part will debut on March 3, 2023. However, there’s more to it.
NHK has also revealed that the third part will be split into two cours, and the second cour will air later in 2023. Totally unexpected, right?
NHK has not yet confirmed the length of each cour and lists the debut on March 3 as a ‘special broadcast.’ This hints at how the part might be one special episode instead of multiple ones.
Since there’s not much story left to cover, part 3 might end the series in two special episodes instead of giving us a whole series. More information on this will be revealed soon.
Moreover, NHK will also broadcast a seven-part compilation anime for three consecutive nights starting on February 25, 2023. It will summarize the entire story so far in the show’s 87 episodes.
So, if you’re someone who still hasn’t watched AOT but is getting FOMO due to the hype, tune into the NHK channel, and they’ll take care of it.
Stretching the show out for so many parts has ruined the entire experience, as most of us have already read the manga. All we want to see is our favorite panels in motion, and that’s the only reason the anime is getting so much hype.
To be clear, we adore the series more than anything, but at this point, we’d like to see it end while we’re still in love with it.
