Saeki tells Aono that he has been failing his classes because he can’t read Japanese very well since Saeki lived in Germany till he was 12. Aono helps Saeki out, and the two rush to class together. Sensei does not notice they are absent and does not remember Aono’s name, causing Aono to snap and resolve to prove himself.
Harada meets Sensei, who reveals that he pretended not to know Aono on purpose. Meanwhile, Aono runs into Akine on the bus, who decides to practice at Aono’s place. Aono blushes because they are alone at home together.
Aono notices significant improvement in Akine’s performance and praises her, yet Akine remains fascinated by his performance. Saeki practices with his grandmother cheering him on. Harada warns Hatori not to take Aono and Saeki for granted.
