Fanfare of Adolescence: Gunjō no Fanfāre is an upcoming Aniplex original anime series with animation production handled by Lay-duce.
The series falls under the sports anime category, which just stirs up a whole other level of hype in people.
Recently the genre has been coming up with shows based on some underrated games, and the latest addition to the list is Fanfare of Adolescence.
Fanfare of Adolescence focuses on three young teenagers in the world of horse racing. Each has a different background and personality, but with a common goal, that is to become the best in the highly competitive domain of jockeys in Tokyo.
Anime will enter the untouched realm of horse racing with this upcoming series so let’s look further into what it is all about and when it’s coming.
1. Release Date
Fanfare of Adolescence will be officially released in April 2022 as part of the Spring anime broadcast.
The production team has mentioned no specific date as of yet.
2. Key Visual
The anime unveiled three key visuals featuring the three main characters: Yu, Shun, and Amane Grace.
The first key visual above shows Yu Arimura, whose eyes look fierce with determination while the rays of light fall upon him. He is one of the main characters in the series.
The second key visual shows Shun Kanami, one of the protagonists, who looks like the human model of daylight. The clear blue sky and rays of sunlight adding contrast and dramatic effect on Shun.
The third key visual shows the third protagonist, Amane Grace, the boy from England, who seems to be giving a chilly cold glare from behind the window. The pink roses at the bottom right provide a contrasting effect to his cold personality.
3. Trailer
The teaser starts with some live-action clips of horses, stables, and a school building while the characters’ monologues play in the background.
The video then shows us two of the three protagonists of the anime, Yu Arimura and Shun Kanami.
4. Plot/Storyline
Fanfare of Adolescence, the story is set in a horse racing academy where one trains to become a jockey. The school has an entrance exam for a three-year jockey program.
The entrance rate difficulty is 10 to 20 times more than average academies, and it is a narrow gate where qualities such as physical fitness tests as well as academic tests are required.
The story follows three teenagers who join the horse racing academy. Yu, the boy who gained popularity in the idol group, first met his heartfelt dream. Shun, the boy who grew up on the island who longs to run on a horse, and Amane, the boy from England who lost his way decided by his parents, but still trying to be himself.
It is the story of three adolescents who spend three years passing through the gates of a horse racing school, dreaming of becoming a jockey.

I. Yu Arimura
Yu Arimura is a 15-year-old teenager from Tokyo. He was a former idol from the famous idol group, “Mr.Doctor.” He fell in love with horse racing after witnessing a race, which made him switch careers.
II. Shun Kanami
Shun Kanami is a 15-year-old boy from the Izu Islands. He grew up listening to a horse racing broadcast on the radio in an environment surrounded by nature and without a TV. He is a carefree person.
III. Amane Grace
Amane Grace is a 15-year-old teenager from England. He is half Japanese with an English father. He is an elite who grew up in a wealthy family and had moved to horse racing schools in various countries before coming to Japan.

8. Conclusion
Sports anime like Haikyu!!, Free! and Kuroko no Basket has always been one of my favorites due to the passion and thrill it holds, and I’m expecting the same from this upcoming anime too.
I’m excited about and looking forward to the uniqueness of horse racing getting adapted into an Aniplex original anime. How far will the trio fare in the brute world of horse racing? Will their dreams come true?
