Role-playing games have been adapted into anime for quite a long time. Some tell a whole new story while others adapt the events from the game. Nier Automata Ver1.1a and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War are two such examples that are currently ongoing.
Another popular game series, Atelier is now taking the anime route with Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, which originally is the twenty-first installment in the series.
On Sunday, during the live-streamed event “Atelier 25th Anniversary Program #5” it was announced that the first Atelier Ryza game will get an anime series, slated for release this summer.
The video opens with a bright view of the sea and Kurken Island. Reisalin “Ryza” Stout looks at the sea from the top of a windmill. She then jumps off and runs toward the shore, meeting with Lent Marslink and Tao Mongarten.
Most of the cast and staff from the game are returning for their respective roles in the anime adaptation of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. The following cast members have been announced to return:

Studio LIDENFILMS will produce the anime with Emma Yuzuriha as the director. Yashichiro Takahashi returns from the first game as the writer for the anime. Tomoyuki Shitaya is designing the characters. For music, Kazuki Yanagawa is returning from the game as the composer.
LIDENFILMS has already impressed us with its animation quality with Tokyo Revengers. The trailer looks great although it has not shown any alchemy in it. If only the team gave a first look into the action sequences, it would have been easy to decide whether to watch it or not.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout (Ryza no Atelier: Tokoyami no Joou to Himitsu no Kakurega) is an anime series based on the 2019 role-playing game. The game was the twenty-first installment in the Atelier game series.
Reisalin “Ryza” Stout lives on Kurken Island and is excited to explore. She sneaks into a boat to the mainland with her friends Lent and Tao. The three are attacked by a monster but rescued by Empel and Lila, who teach them the skills of combat and alchemy.
