Andor episode 11’s ending has set us up perfectly for the finale. Loose threads are being tied up, and many old mysteries are on the verge of getting resolved. The war is about to get worse.

The ending can be divided into two factions, each setting us up for something exciting in the season finale.
The first part is the Cassian and Melshi trope. After escaping from Narkina 5 prison, Cassian and Melshi are lost on one of the moons and try to find a place where they won’t be found.
Meanwhile, Cassian’s mother, Maarva, is dead on Ferrix. She seems to have died from an unknown illness mentioned in the early episodes.
A prominent funeral for a rebel is the last thing the Empire wants, but Dedra Meero insists otherwise. The funeral will be the perfect place for ISB to grab the most wanted insurgents.
Will this finally lure Cassian to Ferrix? That is precisely what Dedra Meero and the ISB want.

Andor is the last to get the news of his mother’s death. Instead of breaking down into tears, Cassian Andor remains quiet. The sun rises in the background, and for the first time in decades, Cassian realizes that he doesn’t have a family.
There is no sense of home. All that exists is war.
Amid all this, Luthen Rael runs into an imperial patrol looking to flex their power. Even after providing his Alderaanian chaincode, the Imperial officers harass him by trying to check his haulcraft illegally.
What a stupid mistake! He obliterates two TIE fighters with some quick maneuvers and makes a quick getaway.
Imagine Darth Maul’s lightsaber. Now, expand it to enormous proportions and then fix it to the sides of a haulcraft. That’s what comes out of Luthen Rael’s spaceship. What follows is total carnage!
Yes, we know what you are thinking! Lightsabers are supposed to be a Jedi specialty, right? So, is Luthen Rael a Jedi?
In this week’s episode, we also saw something that looked like a lightsaber before Luthen met Saw. His monologue to Lonny in previous episodes and his immaculate skills in space wars point toward the same conclusion.
So, does he have powers greater than a fellow human? Guess we’ll have to wait for Tony Gilroy to reveal that in future episodes!
In the next episode, Luthen Rael, Cassian, Melshi, Dedra Meero, and others will likely converge on Ferrix, and we will witness an epic season finale!
