The much-anticipated graphics card by AMD has officially been unveiled at last. AMD has announced the Radeon RX 7600 specs and details on their official website.
AMD’s non-XT RX 7600 will be the first desktop GPU, launching tomorrow, at an MSRP of lower than USD 300—the graphics card promises “next-generation” gaming and streaming performance at 1080p. Average FPS across ten games, including AAA titles, accompanied the announcement where the RX 7600 performed fairly well.
The RX 7600 will have 8GB of GDDR6 memory at “blazing fast” clock speeds. The cards have 32 advanced AMD RDNA3 Compute Units and many Ray Accelerators.
The transistor count is very high at 13.3 billion with 2048 stream processors and 128 Texture Units. It has a game frequency of 2250 MHz and a boost frequency of up to 2655 MHz under the most strenuous graphic loads.
The second-gen ray tracing accelerators and the brand-new AI accelerators promise groundbreaking performance with maximum graphical fidelity.
AMD has compared the card to its predecessor – the RX 6600, based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The RX 7600 is superior, considering 2048 CUs, compared to the RX 6600’s 1792 CUs.
The clock speed is also higher and supports the previously unsupported AV1 encoding. While the size of the Infinity Cache remains the same, it’s based on the second generation, hence better performance is expected.
The DisplayPort 2.1 support has been left to the board partners to include in the package, but officially, the RX 7600 supports it.
On paper, it is mentioned that at 60+ FPS gaming, on average, the RX 7600 provides 29% better and faster gaming than the RX 6600. It must be remembered that the RX 6600 was launched at USD 329 in a rather turbulent GPU market.
With the launch imminent, reviews are supposed to flow in soon from the testers and reviewers. These will feature both Made By AMD (aka “MBA”) and custom designs. When it hits the shelves tomorrow, it will compete with the Nvidia RTX 4060Ti launching today.
