AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700X is an 8-core CPU featuring a boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz. Unlike other Ryzen 9 SKUs, this model has a TDP of up to 105W.
AnandTech forums posted a picture of the upcoming Ryzen 7 7700X CPU.
The image shows what the retail version of AMD’s Raphael 8-core CPU will look like. It is branded with AMD’s trademark logo and SKU name. The sample has an OPN code of 100-000000593, confirming earlier rumors that this model is the 7700X CPU.
According to Twitter user @SkyJuice, this processor has the “D” marking, which suggests that this is a pre-retail version, maybe an engineering review sample.
The Ryzen 7 7700X is the first CPU to leak ahead of AMD’s scheduled launch. The company will launch up to four Zen 4-based desktop processors with up to 16 Zen 4 cores to be introduced with the X670 motherboard series.
The cache size of the 7700X is 40MB total, that’s 8MB more than the current Ryzen 7 5800X. AMD has doubled the L2 cache in Zen 4 models over Zen 3. The suggested retail price is $299, the same as the 5700X Zen 3 CPU.
Intel will also be releasing its next-gen Raptor Lake CPUs on the same day in its Innovation event.
AMD is scheduled to announce the Ryzen 7000 series on August 29th. The series will be available from September 27th.
