AMD Ryzen 7000 processors are around the corner with their updated September launch, but still, there are a few things that we still didn’t know about the Zen4 CPUs. One such thing was an Integrated Graphics card.
Until now, only Ryzen CPUs without chiplet architecture (for notebooks and the G desktop models derived from them) offered an integrated graphics unit (iGPU). Although there were hints that the Ryzen 7000 desktop series will come with an iGPU, there is some exciting news that AMD hadn’t unveiled before.
According to the official information available on AMD’s website, AMD Ryzen 7000 series Desktop CPUs will feature RDNA2 Radeon Graphics.
All four SKUs feature the same graphics onboard with 2 Graphics Cores (Compute Units) featuring 64 Stream Processors each. The two clocks for the graphics listed by AMD are a base clock of 400 MHz and a boost up to 2.2 GHz.
There were earlier leaks in May hinting that Ryzen 7000 will come with RDNA 2 graphics, but there wasn’t any concrete evidence until yet. Now we know the figures this iGPU offers, obviously isn’t capable for gaming.
Integrated GPUs are mostly made powerful enough for content creation and some basic display output capability, so unless you are booting up your graphically demanding game, it might not be required to turn on your discrete GPU. Moreover, we might also see RDNA3 iGPUs in AMD’s next-gen Phoenix processors.
Still, we would recommend using a discrete GPU to get the most out of your Ryzen 7000 as the iGPU has limited graphic performance in itself. AMD ‘Raphael’ Ryzen 7000 CPUs now launch on September 27th.
