In response to NVIDIA’s DLSS, AMD responded with the FidelityFX Super Resolution, an open-source, upscaling technology to develop gaming visuals.
AMD recently published the FidelityFX Super Resolution(FSR) 2.0 source code, allowing developers to access the temporal upscaling software. The tech is officially available for Xbox development kits.
Even though FSR is open source, there’s no information related to Sony’s platform, so we don’t know whether the technology will be available for Playstation development kits.
The FSR 2.0 edition is faster than NVIDIA’s counterpart, the DLSS.
AMD has also updated the status of the games supporting the FSR versions 1.0 and 2.0.
The list includes games such as Abyss World, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, Deathloop, Delysium, EVE Online, Farming Simulator 22, Forspoken, Grounded, God of War, Hitman 3, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Overprime, Perfect World Remake, Rescue Party Live, Super People, Swordsman Remake, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, The Callisto Protocol, Thymesia, and Unknown 9: Awakening, and more.
AMD has been active in the FSR; the open-source code has been adopted 2-times faster than NVIDIA’s DLSS upscaling tech. Even more games are expected to join the list.
