AMD recently announced their latest product lineup at the CES 2023 event. The company unveiled their very first range of mobile RDNA3 GPUs and Zen 4 CPUs, along with the new Ryzen 7000 desktop CPU.
NVIDIA also revealed its desktop GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GPU, which is the first card with the latest Ada Lovelace architecture to drop below the $800 mark, costing less than AMD’s RX 7900 series, which starts from $899.
AMD compared the RTX 4070 Ti graphics card with the Radeon RX 7900 XT, claiming that the latter is the fastest GPU under $900.
The RX 7900 XT is relatively faster than the RTX 4070 Ti, given that it features 8GB more memory and a 67% wider memory bus interface. The performance difference becomes even smaller when you are looking at the price per dollar since the Radeon GPU is almost $100 more.
NVIDIA is way better at handling stock since even two days after launch, the graphics card is available for purchase, and that too at MSRP. The same can’t be said for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.
AMD also put the Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU against the RTX 4080. Although AMD claims their graphics card is the fastest under $1000, it sure is not available at that price. Even the RTX 4080 is either out of stock, or overpriced.
This neck-to-neck competition among companies will lower the prices sometime later. Both the products are at another level, and it will only get better from now on. Hopefully, we won’t be facing any supply issues later this year.
