New month brings with it a new range of a variety of K-dramas. The Korean entertainment industry never sleeps, and it’s pretty evident with the vast number of content they push out almost every week.
The list for K-dramas released in June this year is filled with star-studded and highly-anticipated actors too. This month has it all – from Bae Suzy and Seo Ye-ji’s comeback to the small screen to remakes and sequels.

1 EVE
Release Date – June 1
EVE is hands-down one of the select few dramas the entire K-drama fandom was waiting for. After an ugly controversy, Seo Ye-ji is back on screen with this new 16-episode revenge thriller. It also stars Park Byung-eun, Lee Sang-yeob and Yoo Sun.
The story revolves around Lee Ra-el and her calculated revenge plan of 13 years. The result of it is a chaebol couple’s two trillion KRW divorce lawsuit that spreads like wildfire across the nation. Romance, intimacy, thriller, and mystery – EVE packs all of them with a punch.
2 Why Her?
Release Date – June 3
Hwang In-yeop has had a busy year. Why Her? is the actor’s second drama released this year after his breakthrough role in True Beauty two years ago. The series also stars Seo Hyun-jin (The Beauty Inside), Huh Joon-ho, and Bae In-hyuk in the lead.
Why Her? is a love story between Oh Soo-jae, an ambitious, cold-hearted lawyer, and a law university student, Gong Chan. Soo-jae is the youngest associate at one of the best law firms in South Korea.
After an unexpected incident, she is demoted to a professor at Sejeong University. Gong Chan falls head-over-heels for her and takes it upon himself to protect Soo-jae.
3 Doctor Lawyer
Release Date – June 3
Joining the pack of thriller dramas is Jo Ji-sub’s comeback drama, Doctor Lawyer. The show also stars Im Soo-hyang (My ID is Gangnam Beauty) and Shin Sung-rok (Vagabond).
Doctor Lawyer follows the story of Han Yi-han, an elite surgeon who turns into a lawyer after his medical license is revoked due to a rigged operation. He specializes in medical litigation and works with Geum Seok-yeong, a public prosecutor who lost her family in the same operation that Yi-han performed.
4 Cleaning Up
Release Date – June 4
Starring Jeong So-min, Yeom Jung-ah, and Kim Jae-hwa, Cleaning Up is an interesting drama. The trio plays cleaning ladies Eo Yong-mi, An In-kyung, and Maeng Soo-ja, who work at a trading company.
They all struggle with their own financial crisis, which proves to be a hurdle in achieving their dreams, but things change when they overhear insider information about the stock market. They start investing money based on the tips and tricks they hear and soon carve a whole new world for themselves.
5 To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories
Release Date – June 5
Korean BLs (Boy Love stories, aka gay romance stories) are tough to come by. One of the few K-dramas that have ventured into the category is To My Star. Its popularity fueled the demand for season 2.
The show stars Kim Kang-min and Son Woo-hyun in the lead as chef Han Ji-woo and celebrity Kang Seo-joon respectively.
Season 1 ended on a positive note, with the two keeping their differences aside and finally dating. Season 2 will see their happiness short-lived as Seo-joon drifts apart from Ji-woo, leaving behind just a note. Will their love be able to stand the test of time?
6 LINK: Eat, Love, Kill
Release Date – June 6
LINK: Eat, Love, Kill is a fantasy drama starring Yeo Jin-goo and Moon Ga-young. The show will provide a respite from all the dark thrillers with its refreshing storyline.
The series revolves around Eun Gye-hoon, a sous chef at an elite restaurant, who suddenly starts experiencing someone else’s feelings. He spontaneously laughs, cries, and gets upset, only to figure out later that he is somehow linked with a woman named Noh Da-hyun and is experiencing her emotions.
7 INSIDER
Release Date – June 8
INSIDER is another thriller drama that will keep you on your toes. The series has a star-studded cast with Kang Ha-nuel, Kim Sang-ho, and Heo Sung-tae in lead roles. It also stars Milan International Film Festival winner Lee Yoo-young.
The series revolves around a brilliant judicial apprentice Kim Yo-han and his struggle to get out of prison. Yo-han becomes a victim of an unfortunate incident while going undercover for an investigation, which leads to his imprisonment.
However, the apprentice is always quick on his feet and two steps ahead of everyone. Once inside the prison, he gambles with his life and looks for ways to turn the crisis into an opportunity.
8 Yumi’s Cells 2
Release Date – June 10
With an incredible first-season run, Kim Go-eun and Park Jin-young will return with an even more exciting sequel for Yumi’s Cells.
Season 2 will focus on Yoo Ba-bi tugging at Yu-mi’s heart and emotions after she officially breaks up with Goo Woong. The teasers released so far show the duo’s chemistry and heart-fluttering moments that Yu-mi will have to embrace. It might also shed some light on the reason behind Goo Woong and Yu-mi’s breakup.
9 Jinxed at First
Release Date – June 15
Na In-woo’s love for fantasy dramas doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. The actor will be playing the lead in Jinxed at First opposite SNSD’s Seohyun, who recently made waves with the Netflix movie, Love and Leashes.
Jinxed at First is a fantasy rom-com revolving around Gong Soo-kwang, an unlucky brewmaster who meets Lee Seul-bi, the goddess of fortune. As they grow closer, Seul-bi takes it upon herself to change Soo-kwang’s life for the better.
10 Alchemy of Souls
Release Date – June 18
Joining the fantasy K-drama pack is Netflix’s upcoming show, Alchemy of Souls. Written by the famous Hong sisters, it remains one of the most anticipated dramas of this year. The show stars
Lee jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun and Shin Seung-ho.
The romance series follows the lives of young magicians dealing with love, life, twisted fates, and experiences on heaven and earth.
11 Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area
Release Date – June 24
Another drama that has created quite a buzz on the internet is Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
It is an adaptation of the hit Spanish heist series comprising a star-studded cast of Park Hae-soo (Squid Game), Yoo ji-tae (Mad Dog, Healer), Jun Jong-seo (Burning), Kim Ji-hoon (Flower of Evil), Park Myun-hoon (Parasite, Crash Landing on You) among others.
The essence of Money Heist remains the same. The storyline is turned and twisted to fit the economic tensions between South and North Korea, promising an action-packed, adrenaline-rushing drama.
12 Anna
Release Date – June 24
After two years since Start-Up, Bae Suzy will return to the small screen with the thriller series, Anna. Kim Jun-han (Hospital Playlist), Jung Eun-chae (The King: Eternal Monarch), and Park Ye-young share the screen with her.
The story revolves around Yu-mi, who ends up living the life of a completely different person after one small lie. Kim Jun-han plays Ji-hun, an ambitious man and Yu-mi’s husband. It is a story of how a part-time worker Yu-mi leads a double life as Anna, a high-profile celebrity attending press conferences and meetings.
13 Café Minamdang
Release Date – June 27
Starring Seo In-guk, Oh Yeon-seo, Kwak Shi-yang, and Kang Mi-na in the lead, Café Minamdang is a comedy-mystery drama that will take viewers on a fun rollercoaster ride through the characters’ many shenanigans.
It is based on a webtoon of the same name and follows the life of Nam Han-joon, a former criminal profiler who starts working as a shaman. He operates Cafe Minamdang working as a fortune teller and scams customers, but also helps some of them solve their problems.
Oh Yeon-seo plays detective Han Jae-hee, an enthusiastic person who never strays from a righteous path but gets entangled with Han-joon’s Cafe Minamdang.
14 Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Release Date – June 29
Also called Strange Lawyer Woo Yong-woo, the drama features Park Eun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, and Kang Ki-young in the lead.
The drama hopes to provide a different perception of the everyday world as we know it through the eyes of Woo Young-woo, a brilliant lawyer who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome. She boasts an IQ of 164, incredible memory, and was at the top of her class at Seoul National University. Despite all of it, she struggles with social interactions.
