All Celestial Pill Locations in The New West – Black Myth: Wukong

Chapter 3 in Black Myth: Wukong will unlock a new region called The New West. Just like every other chapter, this also comes with new quests, meditation spots, bosses, and key items unique to this region.

There are three Celestial Pills in The New West. Depending on the pill, they can affect your Mana, Health or Stamina. All of them are available towards the end of the chapter. Here’s the list of Celestial Pills in New West:

  • Jade Lotus Pill
  • Taiyi Pill
  • Nonary Pill

Effect: Increases maximum Health

Right after leaving Pagado Realm, go to the Warding Temple. Slide down the snow hill to trigger your boss fight with Kang-Jin Star.

After the battle is over, interact with the Turtle Island Keeper’s Shrine. Take a left from there, heading towards the cliff. You have to go down twice before landing on a pathway. Continue on it and you will find the Jade Lotus Pill somewhere along the way.

Kang-Jin Star can shapeshift into a white dragon. Her forte is lighting attacks. She is equally talented as a human and as a dragon.

At the beginning of the fight, Kang-Jin will shoot mini lightning bolts by swinging her arms. This attack can be easily dodged by moving to either side.

She will also swipe her arms upwards or downwards, delivering swift lightning charges. You can either dodge backward or to either side.

Kang-Jin will then bring out a glowing lightning orb. This attack is widespread so you might want to move far back to avoid being in the AoE.

In the second phase of the fight, Kang-Jin will transform into a fierce dragon. In this form, she can shoot multiple lightning spears at once or activate lightning strikes or use her body to strike down the ground, sending shockwaves.

Most of this fight is dodging attacks since Kang-Jin is quick. However, the key is to correctly time them and slip in your attacks in between.

Taiyi Pill

Effect: Increases maximum Mana

At the end of the Pagado Realm, you will have to fight against Captain Wise-Voice. After defeating him, proceed on the path ahead, leading up to a cave.

Keep going until you reach a wooden fence on your right. The Taiyi Pill should be inside the golden container placed by the fence.

How to defeat Captain Wise-Voice?

Captain Wise-Voice is a lightning user so equip Shock-Quelling Powder before you head into the fight. This will safeguard you if hit by a lightning strike. You can also improve your Shock Resistance by trading Mind Cores.

The Captain will begin by physically attacking you, either by trying to ram into you, crush you underneath its massive head, or stomp on you. Rather than targeting its head, aim your attacks at his feet to distract him.

When there is an opening, do a heavy attack using Smash or Thrust Stance. It will damage his legs, causing the Captain to fall down. Do another heavy attack but this time targeting his head. This attack should be enough to trigger its second phase.

The boss will now start using lightning attacks. He will use his energy to send out shockwaves. When the attacks become too frequent, you just need to focus on moving out of range.

The Captain will also charge up the entire floor, turning it red. Switch to Pillar Stance and hold down heavy attack to balance on your staff. As long as you are not touching the ground, you will be out of harm’s way.

The boss will need to recharge for a few seconds after this attack. So, keep focusing your heavy attacks at his legs. You can also use Wind Tamer for a slight advantage. Once you topple him, keep landing blows to its head.

Nonary Pill

Effect: Increases maximum Stamina

Start at the New Thunderclap Temple. From the first Keeper’s Shrine, go to the building in front and head down the stairs on the right. Go to the next building and use the stairs to reach the second floor. Exit via the door upstairs and there should be another staircase. Head up till you reach the Side Hall. Your fight against the Non-Void boss will begin now.

After defeating the boss, head right from the staircase. The Nonary Pill will be inside a golden box in the middle of the frozen waterfall.

How to defeat Non-Void?

Non-Void

Non-Void does not use any weapons to fight. Instead, he is a skilled spell user. He might even be the toughest non-Yaoguai boss you will fight against.

He can wield invisibility spells making it difficult to figure out his position. You can only make out his outline. He will also use the pages scattered across the room to create a raging vortex. Dodge right before the whirlwind takes you or else you will suffer the wrath of endless paper-cuts.

Use A Pluck of Many at the beginning itself to inflict as much damage as possible. As the boss is occupied with the clones, follow it up with Quick Attack Combos. Next, you can either use Wandering Sight Spirit attack or Transformation.

When the boss’s health is low, keep performing rapid strikes. You must keep persistently attacking so that he does not have time to recover.

Once you defeat Non-Void, you can absorb its spirit.
