Alan Wake is a Stephen King-inspired classic game which was launched back in 2010. The action-adventure thriller was critically acclaimed and quickly became a hit among suspense fanatics.
Remedy revealed in the company’s earnings report that Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023.
The company stated the sequel is in “full production stage” but there’s “still a lot of work to be done.” The game is being tested by users, and the feedback is used to improve certain aspects of the game.
Remedy is also working on a collaboration with Rockstar Games to remake Max Payne 1 and 2. These titles are currently in production.
Codename Condor, which is a Control spinoff, is in the “proof-of-concept” stage. Another Control game, Codename Heron, is also in the concept stage, and has a big budget.
Vanguard is Remedy’s upcoming free-to-play co-op multiplayer game which is also in the “proof-of-concept” stage. It will be a unique game with an “expansive service-based F2P with a rich world and selected new elements”
The future is exciting for the Remedy Connected Universe which includes Alan Wake 2, Control, and the Max Payne series as well. Hopefully, the developers deliver a befitting sequel true to the spirit of the original games.
Alan Wake 2 is scheduled for release in 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
