The story of the pint-sized underdog, Sora, is still ongoing even after 50 episodes, with no sign of stopping. Giving a ‘prologue’ feel, the journey in the anime hasn’t even toed the starting line.
The last we saw Sora was after their ultimate defeat against Yokohama Taiei High School of 74-119.
We also see glimpses of him training with the other team members for an upcoming tournament, in the after-credits scenes.
They refer to the next arc in the franchise, which is the Monster Bash Tournament.
1. Episode 51 Release Date
Episode 51 of Ahiru no Sora anime will be released in Summer 2021, as part of the second season.
Season 1 of the anime was used to set up the chess pieces of the plot, and now the real journey of the Kuzuryu High School basketball team begins.
With more than 550+ manga chapters, the animation studio has enough source material to make three more seasons.
With the clash of opinions of the mangaka, Takeshi Hinata, and the direction the anime has gone through in the first season, Season 2 of Ahiru No Sora should come out by Summer 2021, if not later.
2. Ahiru No Sora Season 2 Plot & Predictions
The story will pick up pace after their practice match against Yokohama High.
The Kuzuryu basketball team goes through a training session the entire summer vacation to prepare for a new competition, Monster Bash Tournament.
This introduces a new character, Nino, who seems to be a class above them all in handling the ball in the game. Upon learning that Nino isn’t actually a part of their school’s basketball team, Sora makes a bet.
If Sora and his team win, Nino will have to join Kikugawa High’s team. But eventually, they understand what it meant to be a national level player.

I. The Training
Episode 50 starts with Sora and the others remembering their match with Yokohama High and getting motivated to play another match soon. Soon, they go to a beach to train for their next hurdles.
Satsuki Masayoshi agrees to become their basketball club advisor after his wife gives birth to their child.
There is a small flashback scene of Madoka and her feelings with basketball and Momoharu.
II. The Knot in her Heart
But before completely severing her bond with basketball, she says that she has one more knot with her, and it focuses on the bracelet Sora’s mother gave her. The after-credits scene teases a glimpse of the Monster Bash Tournament before the episode finishes.

Ahiru no Sora, also known as ‘Sky of the Duck or ‘Sora the Duck,’ is a Japanese basketball manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Hinata.
It started serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2003 and so far, 50 volumes have been published in Japan by Kodansha.
It revolves around Sora Kurumatani, who promised his mother-
