3. Recap Of Episode 47
I. Kamiki’s Interference
The referee blows the whistle signaling a break in the 3rd quarter. This is done as a result of Yozan Kamiki’s abrupt entry onto the court despite not even being a member on the team’s bench.
He saw how good Sora is and he can’t wait to play with him. Yozan goes to his coach and asks him to give him a chance to play. Yokohama’s coach lists three things about Yozan that bothers him. The first one being his unruly behavior of stepping onto the court abruptly. Kamiki also portrays himself as a really good player to convince his coach to let him play in the game. His arrogance that he is better than Tetsuo is yet another reason that kept Kamiki’s coach from allowing him to play.
II. Yozan’s Flashback
When Yozan’s coach denies his request to play in the match against Kuzuryu High, he has a flashback in which his coach is seen telling him that he is a duck so no matter how hard he tries, he can never fly.
After this incident, the coach gives him the unfortunate news that his name is not on their roster of bench players and hence, cannot participate in the match.
III. Yozan Enters The Game
Even though Kamiki has been prohibited from playing in the game, Sora intervenes and tells everyone that he wants to go head to head with Yozan. This results in Yokohama’s coach granting Yozan permission to play in the 4th quarter.
The 4th quarter starts with Yozan playing in the game. The game begins to get intense with only ten minutes left on the clock. Kuzuryu High must have a miracle on their side to win this match.
Yozan proves his capabilities as soon as he sets foot in the court by assisting Fuwa to score. Sora notices that he is an incredible player and is the biggest obstacle to their hope for victory.
Yozan plays like Sora’s mother as he was her student before she passed away. Yozan showers the court with 3 pointers, bringing the score to 88:60 with Yokohama in the lead.
