3. Recap of Episode 42
I. Senpai, Watch Where you are Going…
Episode 42, titled “War Declaration,” begins with commencing the practice match between Kuzu High and Yokohama Taiei High; in the first basket itself, Yasuhara throws the ball in Taiei’s basket, but as the game continues Sora scores a three-pointer as their point guard.
He baffles Taiei’s onlooking players and scores two three-pointers in a row.
Hyou gets thrown off his game with Chucky’s defense, and Kuzu High continues to confuse Taiei with irregular strategies and teamwork!
Sora backs further away from the point line and scores a three-pointer again!
However, their captain scolds him for hogging the spotlight, but Yozan watches Sora’s game in awe throughout.
II. Fuwa’s Mid-Life Crisis
The Kuzu vs. Taiei game continues with Taiei taking the lead of 10 to 9 and audience watching intently.
The teachers start to warm up to Kuzu High’s team and discuss Satsuki sensei staying for the basketball team while his wife’s due date on that day!
Chiaki decides to score his point on his own, moving on from the life of making others work for him, moving on from being a point guard.
Taiei’s coach observes the progressing match and recognises Fuwa’s frustration of the opposite team being mediocre.
This slump of one player caused the friction between Taiei’s players.

Taiei has a player change and substitutes Yokoyama in Fuwa’s place as soon as he enters the court.
Yokoyama succeeds in scoring, leaving Kuzu players in shock with the difference in their skill level.
