3. Recap of Previous Episode 40
I. Mineta Gets It Together
Episode 40, titled “Stop and Go,” begins at Yokohama Taiei’s intense basketball practice. After practice is over, they take a shower and call it a day.
The teachers discuss the upcoming practice match clashing with the guidance council meeting. So, half the students may not be able to participate; coach says he has been testing something new, for the game against Kuzu High he plans to send only first-year students and sophomores.
A ruckus is caused outside as Mineta suddenly decides to quit the team, after being told by Shiraishi. The next morning, Mineta and Fuwa skip practice. While having breakfast, they discuss their basketball goals, but later that day, no one tries to stop him while leaving.
However, Mineta sneaks later that night to get his revenge on Shiraishi by pranking him, but he comes across boxes filled with worn-out basketball shoes, which were of the latest model.
He concludes they were overused in months and realized just how hard his teammates have been working day and night and weeps to himself. The next morning Mineta re-joins the team with a new haircut.
II. Determined Sora!
The Kuzu High basketball team watches the match between Maru High and Taiei High on tape and realizes the different skill levels. Nanao shares her plans to have them play different positions in the practice game; after their team meeting, Sora continues to practice more.
He catches up with seniors of other high school and pleads Taro to teach him the required skills but gets rejected and has to leave. Taro suddenly announces he will do free practice, and Sora is called back to watch.
Sora analyses Taro’s moves, and later Kuzu High’s practice continues. Sora and Nabe chat about their goals and areas required to improve and work on it. Sora gives it his all trying to find his unique skill, which only he can perform on the court!

Ahiru no Sora, also known as “Sky of the Duck” or “Sora the Duck,” is a Japanese basketball manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Hinata. It started serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2003.
The first volume was released on May 17, 2004, and as of September 2019, fifty volumes have been published in Japan by Kodansha. An anime television series adaptation by Diomedéa premiered on October 2, 2019 and is still ongoing.
