It’s festival time in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as the Sigrblot summer festival comes around. Ubisoft dropped a free update adding the new festival event that all players can take part in.
For the uninitiated, the regular festivals in AC Valhalla allow players to take part in new events and buy unique weapons and items. Last December, the tradition started with the Yule festival, followed by the Ostara Festival in March this year that brought Easter to Eivor’s England. Now the stage is set for the Sigrblot festival; follow through to know the ins and outs of the festival.
1. Sigrblot Festival in AC Valhalla
The Sigrblot Festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla begins on July 29th and will end on August 19th, 2021. Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed if this will be a recurring event, but it will be a one-time festival going by past trends.
Sígrblót or ‘the Victory Blessing’ is an old Norse tradition that marks the beginning of Summer and is usually combined with offerings to Frey, marking the celebration of victory and life. So, it is natural that the same is celebrated in AC Valhalla as well.
Revansthorpe is alive with activity. The long days bring with them the start of raiding season. All successful raids begin with proper planning, practice, and prayer to the gods so they may favor you when the time comes.
IN-GAME DESCRIPTION
2. How to Start the Sigrblot Festival
Start the Sigrblot Festival by first reaching England and getting your AC Valhalla settlement to Level 2. Completing either Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire story arcs and a level 2 settlement are the bare requirements for the Sigrblot Festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Once you have the requirements completed, the time-limited festival should appear as an event as soon as you update to the latest version. The quest is titled “Sigrblot Festival,” in which you will be introduced to the festivities.
3. Sigrblot Festival Quest Guide
Just like previous festivals, Sigrblot brings in new games and quests for you to take part in War Games, The War Effort, and Test your Meta. You get festival tokens that you can spend to buy limited edition festival items.
I. War Games
War Games is a game of Ordlong with Alwin; the objective is to defeat him for the mission. You will interact with Alwin again as part of an event called The War Effort.
To win at Orlog, you need both strategy and some luck on your side. You can play this mini-game any number of times during the festival.
II. The War Effort
Just roaming around the festival ground, you will see four wooden pillars that you can interact with; these are objectives for the War Effort mission.
i. Pillar #1 Objectives
These are just everyday activities that you should not have any trouble with:
- Get animal goods from Hunting.
- Catch a Fish.
- Loot Foreign Supplies (Vagn River Raid)
ii. Pillar #2 Objectives
The second set of objectives are festival unique and can be completed only during the festival.
- Buy a Season Specific item from Norvid’s Shop
- Beat Alwin in a game of Orlog
iii. Pillar #3 Objectives
Another set of unique objectives, which actually are mini-quests on their own, follow their specific guides below.
- Feeding the Wolf: Help Thyra with the sacrifice
- Fight or Flyte: Help Braun with the pigs
- Three Big Pigs: Humble Ake
iv. Pillar #4 Objectives
The last set of objectives are quite easy, and you just need to fetch the specific items.
- Call a Feast
- Apply a Tattoo
- Find the 3 War Letters
v. Where to Find 3 War Letters in AC Valhalla?
- Letter #1 Location: The first War Letter is just next to Alwin on a table with the barrel of ale.
- Letter #2 Location: The second letter is next to the giant fire pyre.
- Letter #3 Location: The last letter is with the large group of barrels on the arena’s Eastside.
vi. Feeding the Wolf Walkthrough
Talk to Thrya to begin the Feeding the Wolf quest. To complete the Feeding the Wolf mission in AC Valhalla, just read all the letters near the stable of your settlement.
Once you complete the letters, you will have to carry the crate below the pillar into the pyre that’s about to burn. Get to the altars of the gods and light up; you can choose any of the gods. Talk to Thyra after completing to get your reward; you will get 105 Festival Tokens.
vii. Collect the Pigs: Three Big Pigs Guide
The Three Big Pigs quest is started once you talk with Braun at the festival grounds. In short, you have to find his missing pigs.
Travel a bit north from Braun to see where the cart crashed. Well, the pigs have run off into the forest. To complete the Three Big Pigs mission in AC Valhalla, locate the missing pigs and whistle them into their pen.
Talk to Braun after completing the quest to get your 100 Festival Tokens.
viii. Win at Flyting: Fight or Flyte Guide
Win the Fight or Flyte quest against Ake by winning the Flyting mini-quest. Pay attention to what Ake is saying and select the best rhyming comeback.
The correct responses are if you want the easy way through this flyting challenge:
- “While I fight and I bleed. You turn honey to mead.”
- “A calm life is yours to choose. I draw blood; you nurse your brews!”
- “You are drunk or insane, with rank rot in your brain.”
- “In due time, you’ll be skilled. Till then, wait, lest you’re killed.”
ix. The Final Offering
Once you are done with all the war effort objectives, it is time for the final offering. Talk to Sunnivato (Southside of the festival ground) to begin the final quest.
Complete the Final Offering mission in AC Valhalla by shooting the boat loaded with all the festival sacrifices and offerings. Use the Ballista in front of you to hit the boat.
Now you will unlock additional items to purchase at the shop, a settlement decoration called ‘Thor’s Brazier and a quest item named ‘Thor’s Idol.’
III. Test your Metal
The last mission of the Sigrblot festival can be started by speaking with Swinda, who is the new blacksmith. The mission is simple; you need to fight! You have to pick between dual daggers, short swords, or dual shields.
To complete the Test your Metal Mission in AC Valhalla, you need to win three bouts of fighting. Eivor will fight with his Jomsviking for the first two rounds, while the last round will be having Eivor alone.
You can repeat the fight any number of times, and if you win three times with each of the weapons, you will unlock three mastery challenges! Surviving each round will award you Festival Tokens.
4. Sigrblot Festival Shop: What to Buy?
- Weapons & Bird Skins
- Hunting Falcon, 200 Tokens
- Skrofnung, 300 Tokens
- Settlement Decoration
- Watch Tower Scheme, 110 Tokens
- Baldr’s Offering, 20 Tokens
- Baldr’s Brazier, 20 Tokens (Unlocked After Final Offering)
- Freya’s Brazier, 20 Tokens (Unlocked After Final Offering)
- Tattoos
- Flame and Steel Tatoo (Head), 70 Tokens
- Flame and Steel Tatoo (Torso Front), 50 Tokens
- Flame and Steel Tatoo (Arms), 50 Tokens
- Flame and Steel Tatoo (Torso Back), 50 Tokens
- Hair Styles
- Sigrblot Hair (Blond), 30 Tokens
- Sigrblot Hair (Light Brown), 30 Tokens
- Sigrblot Beard, 30 Tokens
- Sigrblot Hair (Dark Brown), 30 Tokens
- Sigrblot Hair (Red), 30 Tokens
The pièce de résistance of this festival would be the one-handed sword, Skrofnung which is also the highest-priced item in the shop. Being the only one-handed sword in the game, I was solely collecting tokens to try this one out.
It comes at the superior level, and at that point too, it is a formidable weapon with good stun and speed stats. The passive ability that increases ability damage after successful dodges would be quite handy for those who dodge and attack often.
Ubisoft has quoted that more one-handed swords are coming, and so far, it looks like they are not just long daggers but actually usable weapons! The unique Braziers that are unlocked after the Final Offering caught my attention, too, and will fit in nicely with the settlement decorations.
5. How to Fix Sigrblot Festival Bugs
Nothing speaks a festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, like some glitches and bugs brought in by the update. Follow these workarounds until Ubisoft pushes a new update.
I. Fix Eivor Control Loss in Sigrblot Festival
If you lose control of Eivor during the Three Big Pigs mission, you can fix this bug by reloading a previous save.
II. Can’t Interact with Characters to Start Quests?
Pushing NPCs who are supposed to give you quests can disable the quest option entirely! If this happens to you, move out of the festival area and then come back to retrigger the quests.
III. Missing Foreign Supplies
Ther is a rare bug where you can’t get foreign supplies to finish the War Effort quest. Right now, there is no workaround for this, but Ubisoft has acknowledged this issue and will send out a hotfix soon.
