AC Valhalla Details Infiltration Mission and More from Siege of Paris

The release day for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Seige of Paris DLC has arrived, and finally, Ubisoft is being a little more liberal with details. Earlier today, the developer dropped a new trailer that includes gameplay footage from the new DLC that takes place in West Francia.

While the footage reveals a lot about the land of Francia (watch out for rats!), the highlight is the open-ended infiltration missions that will form a crucial part of the new DLC.

These missions are a callback to Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Black Box tasks and will have you pushing your assassin brain to figure out how to take out a target best.

For the uninitiated, Black Box missions in Assassin’s Creed Unity involved finishing off a target, as was the case with many other game missions.

However, the challenge here was that there was no one way of performing this task. You could complete your mission in multiple ways, and each path had its own unique obstacles in place.

One way to go about it was to scale tall buildings or stealth around at ground level to find hidden entrances. The risk of being exposed is high here.

Another way was to be more brazen and fight all the guards in between you and your target. Naturally, this would take a toll on your health and arsenal.

There were also more sophisticated methods in play for those who wished to challenge their intellect.

In addition to these black box-inspired missions, the trailer showcased Eivor welding a two-handed scythe, teased new skills, new weapons, and also introduced an underground group that might, in some way, help the Vikings conspire against Charles the Fat.

While the underground group’s agenda against Charles might be something different, the Vikings will be in charge of keeping Charles the Fat well away from England.
