AC Valhalla Rowan or Holger Choice: Who is Right?

Picking between Rowan or Holger is one of AC: Valhalla’s many choices that oversee the main storyline.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is, in essence, a story-driven RPG that encompasses choice-based gameplay in its core. As Eivor, we are tasked with many story-altering choices during the gameplay. One such choice is found in between the quest titled ‘Reporting on East Anglia’ where we are tasked with picking between Rowan and Holger.

1. The Rowan Vs. Holger Choice in AC Valhalla

Just as we finish the East Anglia Arc, we will be reporting to Randvi. Before we can report our findings, we will find ourselves settling a dispute between Rowan and Holger.

Holger, the painter had broken into Rowan’s stable to cut the tail of a horse for a paint brush. Holger justified the act by thinking that the tail would grow back but Rowan believes that the price of the horse had now decreased significantly.

2. Pick a Side: Rowan or Holger

Now it’s time to pick between the two, and to be clear, this choice will not have any impact on the overall story arc.

The right choice to pick in AC Valhalla is Rowan. Holger is in the wrong as he not only cuts the horse’s tail without permission, but he has been part of such disputes before too.

• Rowan is Right: Eivor agrees that cutting the tail has lowered the market value of the horse and Holger should pay for the horse without actually buying the horse. Holger will definitely get displeased but not much he can do. They both will leave.
• Holger is Right: Eivor clarifies that since the damage is not permanent, no money is lost. He warns Holger not to take things without permission and should deliver an apology to Rowan. They both will leave in this choice as well without any fuss.

This choice is one of those ones that ends without much action but as a moral authority of the clan I would recommend picking Rowan. Not only because he is in the right but also because horses need their tails, medically speaking.
