We’re getting close to the first anniversary of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the developers have decided to tease the fans by revealing the game’s new roadmap. This roadmap shows what fans can expect for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the final few months of 2021, which include a new free game activity, a time-limited event, and two Title Updates coming in November and December.
Aside from the leak revealing some achievements linked to a possible new DLC, Ubisoft has been pretty quiet regarding Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leading up to the reveal of this roadmap. Many assumed Tombs of the Fallen would be the name of a new DLC, but that was incorrect.
Tombs of the Fallen is the name of the free game activity on the new roadmap shared on the Assassin’s Creed Twitter account. This activity will be made available on November 9th, the same day when we can expect Title Update 1.4.0 to roll out. No information was given as to what the Title Update will add, remove or tweak in the game, but the proximity of the two content additions release could mean they are linked.
The time-limited Oskoreia Festival event will begin on November 11th and last till December 2nd. Title Update 1.4.1 is expected to land sometime in December.
The Oskoreia Festival, also known as The Wild Hunt Festival, is an event Assassin’s Creed fans have been eagerly awaiting for. Dataminers found several returning events for the festival, including an Archery contest along with Tournament-like structures, but the primary goal appears to be evading the Wild Hunt.
The Wild Hunt itself is a story associated with several branches of northern European folklore and mythology. It consists of a host of spectral, divine, or otherworldly riders racing across the sky in pursuit of prey, often led by a mythological figure. Odin is one of the many entities said to lead the Wild Hunt.
Fans are pretty happy with the roadmap, though some have complained on Twitter that previous Assassin’s Creed titles didn’t receive this amount of post-launch support. Ubisoft had previously stated that they would give Valhalla the most post-launch support than any previous title in the series, so this criticism is a little unwarranted. Other fans have said that the new roadmap would be the reason they start playing Valhalla again.
The first Title Update and free game activity are just three days away from writing this, so we won’t have to wait too long to find out what the new content holds for us.
