The new AC Valhalla Update 1.2.0 brings a new festival to take part in called the Ostara Festival.
The Ostara festival brings a variety of activities and rewards to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Follow this guide to start the festival, complete all the activities and earn all the rewards of the festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
1. How to Start the Ostara Festival?
The Ostara Festival starts immediately after entering the eastside of your colony after you’ve downloaded Update 1.2.0. The festival will stay active from March 18th to April 8th.
To be a part of the Ostara Festival, you need to have reached England and completed either the Grantebridgescire or the Ledecestrescire arc, one of the first story arcs. The festival will start once you visit your settlement. A cutscene between Eivor, Alwis and Alwin will get triggered. You can complete various Festival Events to earn currency called Festival Tokens which can be spent on new gear.
2. Ostara Festival Events
I. Viking Brawl (140 Festival Points)
This is a game which returns from the Yule Festival. In each round you bet Festival Tokens. Bet on the next round to earn more or lose it all.
It’s quite similar to brawls you might have done in Valhalla with a twist on the betting system. In each round you have the option to bet all your winnings while Eivor drinks Ale to replenish his health. The downside? You also lose focus because of the ale!
The brawl consists of 10 rounds in total and each new opponent is tougher than the last. Beat the last fighter, Goliath to get the Champion title and 140 Festival Tokens.
II. Twirling Targets (40 Festival Points)
An archery game where you hit targets and score Festival Tokens.
Another mini game that can be repeated is similar to one of the archery games in the Yule Festival. Start this challenge by interacting with Thyra who can be found sitting on the wooden bridge in the Northern end of the grounds.
Shoot at the twirling targets as they swirl around back and forth. The smaller the targets the more points you earn. You have a total of two minutes but the trick here is that you only need to hit the targets, doesn’t matter if you hit them dead center or at the edge! Earn 40 Festival Points for completing this mini game.
III. Braun’s Folly (10 Festival Points)
A drinking game similar to ones you may have played before in Valhalla. Beat Braun to earn 10 Festival Points.
IV. The May Queen (140 Festive Tokens)
Help Mayda get a new May Queen Crown. Start this quest by talking to Mayday, next to the wooden throne.
The backstory here is that Mayda is quite unhappy with her current crown and wants a new one. Eivor is tasked with tracking down a wild beast to get a better crown. You will have to go to the Western part of the festive ground to start your search.
You will encounter numerous beasts in your journey in Valhalla but none will come close to this one. It’s nothing but a chicken! Defeat the chicken and use it to craft a new crown for the May Queen.
V. Spiritual Defense (140 Festival Tokens)
Help Alwis in protecting Ravensthrope from evil spirits. Do note that you can only start this quest during night.
VI. Egg Hunt (140 Festival Tokens)
Time for Easter. Find the eggs hidden in baskets all around Ravensthorpe, there are a total of 15! Start the quest by talking to Alwin to start the quest and completing this would also unlock Alwin as an opponent in the brawl.
VII. Let’s Get Festive (50 Festival Tokens)
Norvid has tasked you with placing five decorations around the festival grounds. The easiest quest among the lot also pays the least!
The decorations can only be placed on the specific marked pedestals. Placing different decorations in the same spot won’t do the trick but you will find plenty of pedestals to complete the quest.
