It is understood that Insider Gaming has been given some exclusive industry insider footage for review under the condition that the footage cannot go public.
Tom Henderson clarified that the franchise is not moving to a “new engine” necessarily. Anvil Pipeline is just a significant evolution to the existing internal Anvil engine.
Sources have explained that the Anvil Pipeline allows the plethora of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed-focused studios to work from one unified branch rather than have different versions and branches.
The benefits of the updated visual engine include ray-traced global illumination and virtual geometry. A new engine means a complete overhaul.
As a result, significant changes are coming to parkour, animations, weather, and more. However, the most significant change comes to the combat, which has been deemed similar to Valhalla.
The only difference is that the combat is more focused on the gore and will include visuals of blood and decapitations. Stealth will be similar to Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell, allowing players to extinguish torches, hide in tall grass and bushes, and have the ability to go prone.
In AC: Codename Red, players can build their settlement in a big and brand-new way, called the “Hideout.” Players can create an armory, dojo, alter, and more from this settlement. The buildings will be completely customizable, including the location, roof design, and interior layout to show off the weapons and armor.
The title is set to be released at some point in 2024. This means an announcement for Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red, set in Feudal Japan, is imminent and can be expected in the coming months.
