Assassin’s Creed fans have been rejoicing in the plethora of new updates they’re getting. This is expected because of the fact that Ubisoft is working on Mirage, Codename Red, Codename Hexe and Codename Jade at the same time.
While fans are still expecting a gameplay trailer from the developers, a CGI trailer was shared a couple of days back.
Redditor u/KingCanmore, based on the trailer coupled with the cryptic codes as solved by Across the Animus community, believes that Ezio’s story in AC: Nexus will be set after the events of AC: Brotherhood.
The Redditor pointed out substantial clues from the CGI reveal trailer of Nexus that led them to believe that the “untold chapter” of Ezio Auditore da Firenze will not be set during the events of ACII.
This conclusion is primarily based on the outfit difference from his first outing in AC: II. The bracer, shoulder armour and cloak are all “lifted from his brotherhood clothing.
Ezio also has greying facial hair, indicating that he is not the youthful Ezio of the mid-15th century anymore. His more mature appearance is combined with several pieces from his Roman adventures.
This hints at the story of AC: Nexus being between 1507 and 1511. The discrepancy in his outfit is not a discrepancy per se, as this is inspired by his and his father’s robe.
A comment under the post confirms the same with even more substantial proof.
In official comic released by Ubisoft called AC: Reflections, which is a part of short stories about games’ protagonists, we see Ezio and Leonardo meet up, both old and greyed past their prime. The outfit in this short story is similar to what we saw in the Nexus CGI trailer.
The official Twitter also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Nexus is set two years after AC: Brotherhood, i.e., in 1509. All these updates will spark waves of joy amongst veteran Assassin’s Creed fans.
Most fans cannot wait to learn about the game, which launches in the Holidays of 2023. Getting to live the life of an assassin, even virtually, is a leap forth, both in terms of the franchise and game technology. We can wait for the release and hope the game lives up to its hype.
