Ubisoft is currently working on 11 Assassin’s Creed titles. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage releases soon on October 12th, and the developers answered some questions in an AMA hosted on Reddit.
In the Ask-Me-Anything hosted by the developers of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage on Reddit, creative director Stephane Boudon mentioned that Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch.
Some other details were revealed as well. This includes the changes that they are bringing to Parkour. Boudon mentioned that concerning Parkour, they are focusing on fluidity and control and building the mechanics from the ground up. They have drawn inspiration from previous AC titles.
However, as seen in pre-AC3 titles, back and side ejects are not part of Mirage’s Parkor System. He also mentioned that special attention is being paid to Basim’s movement in Mirage.
This includes the character’s interaction with the bustling city of 9th Century Baghdad. The availability of Assassin Focus is also limited to outside a conflict.
Boudon also clarified that the walkthrough trailer was “still a work in progress” and that Ubisoft Bordeaux is continually improving the game’s visuals.
Mirage, however, comes bundled with cosmetic and bonus content at launch. Pre-orders will include the bonus “Forty Thieves” quest. When purchasing the Deluxe or Collector’s Case edition, players can access a “Prince of Persia” inspired Deluxe pack.
There is also the option of buying an Assassin’s Creed Mirage haptic suit, designed by Ubisoft’s peripheral partner company OWO. It will allow the player to feel over 30 physical sensations as Basim experiences them in-game.
Many fans consider Assassin’s Creed Mirage a tribute to the original Assassin’s Creed of 340513, which did not receive any DLCs after its launch.
With Ubisoft delivering on its promise of doing away with the RPG genre, developers also mentioned that the skill tree is being worked upon. The Assassin’s Creed Mirage we get on October 12th is expected to surpass the expectations that the walkthrough has set.
About Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.
Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
