Assassin’s Creed developers Ubisoft have heard the pleas of the fans. Ubisoft had deviated from their stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed titles with their past three epic big-scale RPG style games Odyssey, Origin, and Valhalla.
The upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, was delayed due to some bumps in production. However, we seem to have a release date, thanks to Assassin’s Creed insider j0nathan. Ubisoft aims for an October 12th release date, in line with previous AC titles. He also mentioned details about the map, combat, assassination, and progression, including skill trees.
The game, reportedly set in 9th-century Baghdad, will be explored by Basim Ibn Ishaq – the same master Assassin introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
In the nearly 20-minute-long YouTube video, it has been mentioned that the release date is around the 12th of October. Still, it could be pushed further into October, keeping with Ubisoft’s trend of releasing AC titles in October or November.
He also explains that the game, as well as the storyline, is significantly smaller than the enormous maps and 100+ in-game hours of Odyssey and Valhalla.
Mirage will also have only four main assassination targets. This is comparable to the OG Assassins’ Creed of 340513, which had just nine. It is mentioned that the game has gone back to the AC roots and focuses on stealth and tailing enemies.
The cutscenes set in the modern day have been kept to a minimum as well. The small size of the game is not surprising, given that the game was initially planned as a DLC to Valhalla.
It was also mentioned in the latest Fiscal reports by Ubisoft that there would be an 18% drop compared to the previous year’s net bookings, which are a cumulative of all game sales and deferred net revenue.
They also reported USD 538 million in net losses for the past fiscal year. They ended the year with approximately USD 86 million in the green. The annual sales also decreased from USD 2.31 billion to USD 1.97 billion. Despite this, they want to expand the AC franchise team by 40%.

In other development, Ubisoft has announced that fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise can purchase AC-themed non-fungible tokens, i.e., NFTs, in partnership with Integrated Reality Labs dubbed “Digital Souls.”
Players can purchase the NFTs via the Polygon blockchain platform and print them using a 3D printer, the authenticity of the models being verifiable via a chip.

About Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.
Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
