Being in love is good, it gives you a purpose and makes you a better version of yourself. The same thing can’t be said about being obsessed with someone. Obsession makes your own identity blur away. It can often make rational people make irrational decisions.
The new upcoming Netflix anime film from Studio Colorido, A Whisker Away or Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu (I want to cry, so I’ll pretend to be a cat) just released a brand new trailer on YouTube.
The trailer has a new scene from the world of ‘Nekojima’ (or Cat Island). Cat Island is a secret world of cats that is invisible to the human eye.
It was also announced that the film is going to feature “Nyaas” (the Japanese term for “Meows“) of Eri Kitamura, Shinichiro Miki, Rei Sakuma, Oolongta Yoshida, and Fukushi Ochiai as the various cats shown throughout the film.
The script is written by Mari Okada, and is directed by Junichi Sato. The film will release worldwide on Netflix on June 18th.
The film was initially postponed from its Japanese Theatrical Release (supposed to happen on June 5th) because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
As mentioned in the beginning, obsession is never good for the person, and the proof of that is perfectly shown in the film. The film is entirely about “finding one’s true self.”
About A Whisker Away
This original film revolves around Miyo “Muge” Sasaki, a bizarre second-year junior high student who is desperately in love with Kento Hinode, her classmate.
Despite her best efforts, Kento seems to take no notice of her, so she decides to kick things up a notch. Muge discovers a magic mask that allows her to transform into a cat named Tarō.
The magic lets Muge get close to Hinode, but soon, the borders between her life as a cat and as a human begin to fade.
