There’s no way that you watched A Silent Voice and didn’t cry your eyes out the entire time. That film is inarguably one of the best films ever made in anime, and the credit for its creation goes to Yoshitoki Oima.
Following the success of A Silent Voice, other works from Yoshitoki were highly anticipated by fans, just like his recent one with Kyocera.
The electronics manufacturer, Kyocera, streamed a new promotional anime, Watashi no Hashtag ga Haenakute (My Hashtag Does Not Shine).
This original short anime was created by Yoshitoki Oime and directed by Koichi Chigira at Bandai Namco Filmworks. Additionally, SHISHAMO has performed the theme song ‘Kirakira.’
The story is set in a ‘smart city’ envisioned by Kyocera, where people express themselves through hashtags on aerial displays.
Yoshitoki has designed the original characters, and from first glance, you can see his style all over the video. The female lead, Yume, highly resembles Shouko Nishimiya from A Silent voice.
However, unlike Nishimiya, Yume lacks confidence and constantly worries that her hashtag doesn’t stand out. To get over this, she comes up with a special hashtag known as a ‘rare tag.’

The theme song is #SHISHAMO, and the voice actors are #Saori Hayami and #Yuki Kaji!
