Even though Microsoft keeps adding compelling content to its Flight Simulator, it’s just not enough to keep the modding community quiet. This time the modders have done the unthinkable and added a powerful helicopter that players can now pilot in the game.
As of now, Flight Simulator’s mechanics does not officially support travel by helicopters. Moreover, Asobo studio has further confirmed that the situation won’t change till 2022. Luckily, the situation has now changed.
How, you may ask?
A mod team known as Hype Performance Group took matters into their own hand and added the robust and resilient Airbus H135 helicopter to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Flying the helicopter will demand only 120.72 MB from your system.
The work of Hype Performance Group has not gone unnoticed. At the time of writing, over 86k people have downloaded the mod.
Furthermore, the number is only going to rise as it allows players to spread their symbolic wings and see the world, which deals primarily in planes, through a helicopter’s eyes.
Upon looking at Airbus H135, one will not be able to tell it’s a mod. The design and detail of realism make the helicopter blend in finely with the ranks of stupendous airplanes.
The only downfall is that the controls and performance of the H135 helicopter need some looking into. It’s still a long way from perfect and will demand hard work from the modders if it has to go all the way.
Flight Simulator’s modding community keeps on doing something innovative. You can add Godzilla to the game, utilize bing maps, or bring the tranquil experience of flying an airplane in the universe of World of Warcraft.
On the other hand, the developers don’t stay behind either. Asobo Studios keeps on updating popular destinations like UK, France, and Benelux. On top of that, VR compatibility is another enticing factor that the developers have pulled to attract players to try out their game.
