Unlocking camos have become an integral part of the Call of Duty Multiplayer experience, and it’s no different for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Camo challenges offer players an option to customize their loadout and unlock unique designs for their weapons. Some of the challenges require you to get a specific amount of kills and others require you to do more complicated stuff.
There are two types of camos in Modern Warfare 2—base camos and mastery camos. You can unlock base camos by completing one to four challenges and when unlocked, you can use them on any weapon you want. There are 186 base camos and four mastery camos in the game.
We’re here to help you unlock the camos by completing the camo challenges. There are camo challenges for every type of gun. Don’t worry, we’re here to guide you through that. Here are all the challenges you’ll need to complete in order to unlock the camos:
1Assault Rifle
- Score 50 kills
- Score 10 double kills
- Score 50 ADS kills
- Score 15 kills from behind
- 800 kills
- 125 headshots
- 160 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)
- 75 hipfire kills
- 100 longshots
- 100 mounted kills
- 180 full attachment kills
- 50 reload kills
- 110 no attachment kills
- 35 “Streaks” (get three kills without dying)
2SMGs
- Get 50 kills
- Get 50 ADS kills
- 500 kills
- 100 headshots
- 110 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)
- 100 hipfire kills
- 50 longshots
- 50 mounted kills
- 250 full attachment kills
- 40 reload kills
- 75 no attachment kills
- 25 “Streaks” (get three kills without dying)
3LMGs
- 525 kills
- 75 headshots
- 65 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)
- 45 hipfire kills
- 45 longshots
- 45 mounted kills
- 180 full attachment kills
- 30 double kills
- 75 no attachment kills
- 25 “Streaks” (get three kills without dying)
4Shotguns
- 400 kills
- 65 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)

- 50 Pointblank kills
- 50 headshots

5Marksman Rifles
- Score 50 kills

- Score 450 kills
- Score 60 headshots
- Score 50 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)
- Score 50 one-shot kills
- Score 50 longshots
- Score 45 holding breath kills
- 150 full attachment kills
- 25 double kills
- 75 no attachment kills
- 25 “Streaks” (get three kills without dying)
7Pistols
- Score 250 kills
- Score 50 headshots
- 40 “Stance Change” kills (crouch or prone kills)
- 30 hipfire kills
- 30 longshots
- 25 reload kills
- 110 full attachment kills
- 25 double kills
- 75 no attachment kills
- 25 “Streaks” (get three kills without dying)
These are all the camo challenges as of now required to be completed in order to unlock camos. If more challenges continue to appear, then we’ll update this guide with the latest information. But until then, keep on grinding through these challenges.
