On January 27, the official website for the television anime adaptation of Gido Amagakure’s A Galaxy Next Door manga released the show’s second promotional video.
The video previews the show’s opening theme song “Tonari Awase,” performed by Chinatsu Matsumoto, and reveals the anime’s April 8 premiere date.
Additionally, the website revealed a new key visual and more cast members. The new cast members announced are Rie Takahashi as Chihiro Ibusuki, Tomokazu Sugita as Masahiro Morikuni, and Yoko Hikasa as Momoka Morikuni.
The previously announced cast members include Taku Yashiro as Ichirō Kuga, Yu Wakui as Shiori Goshiki, Rina Endō as Machi Kuga, and Maria Naganawa as Fumio Kuga.
Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs. The plot of the anime, as described by Crunchyroll, is:
Ever since their father died, Ichirou Kuga has struggled to support his two younger siblings on nothing but a small inheritance and his passion for drawing manga. A Galaxy Next Door, tells the story of what happens when Kuga’s new mysterious assistant, Shiori Goshiki, declares them to be engaged to be married.

The anime is directed by Ryuichi Kimura at studio Asahi Production, with the series composition by Gigaemon Ichikawa. The character designer for the series is Yasuka Otaki.
The manga the series is based on was first launched in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2020.
