3. Episode 9 Recap

Goshiki tells Ichirou that she got a call from her home, and they are eagerly waiting for her return. However, if she leaves once, there is no guarantee of when she will return.

She told them she wouldn’t be returning anytime soon. The couple goes out to shop for the new year and later visits the shrine. Goshiki wins a lottery for a hot spring trip during a shrine game.

They reach their destination and enjoy the bath (separately). It is the first time for Goshiki, so Machi extends a helping hand. At the same time, Ichirou gets embarrassed as his mind is filled with lewd thoughts.

After having a tasty meal, Machi and Fumio fall asleep, and Goshiki and Ichirou sit down together for some footbath. Goshiki shows Ichirou her new manga drawing app and tells him about its features.

They go on to discuss about her family. It was the first time she had gone against her mother’s will, so she was quite nervous. Ichirou gets worried as he doesn’t understand how he can help her.

She leans on him, saying that she feels better now. The next morning, she gets a call from her mother, who tells her that island is the only place for her.    

Goshiki accidentally tells her mother that she is dating. Ichirou immediately takes the call and introduces himself. Her mother gets flustered and cuts the call. They all go out to enjoy the day.

Goshiki’s mother tells everyone that a villain is deceiving her daughter, and she will go to bring her back. Ichirou worries that he has made the matter worse by interfering.

Goshiki tells him not to stress about it, but he keeps on overthinking, causing her to get angry, leading to Ichirou feeling unwell. Goshiki is determined to annul the pact.

She asks Ichirou if he is ready to fight alongside her to make it happen. He agrees. When they return home, they find Goshiki’s family waiting outside.

A Galaxy Next Door is a manga written by Gido Amagakure. It is receiving an anime adaptation directed by Ryuichi Kimura at studio Asahi Production.

The anime is about a young man struggling to raise his siblings after their father’s death with not little inheritance and a passion for drawing manga.
