After news dropped that “A Couple of Cuckoos” was set to receive an anime adaptation, Mangaka Miki Yoshikawa’s popularity peaked to the stratosphere!
The mangaka, well known for her romance series, is quite a force to reckon with when it comes to borderline crazy plots. So, when she revealed that a new manga by her is about to be serialized, it came as a joyous surprise.
Miki Yoshikawa’s new manga series titled “Hiiragi-Sanchi’s Blood-Sucking Circumstances” is set to be published in the November issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. The November edition of the magazine will be released in October.
Hiiragi-Sanchi’s Blood-Sucking Circumstances started as a one-shot published in 2019 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the magazine. The manga is available for free in Japanese through the pocket magazine site.
The manga follows an orphan boy who sets out to meet his adoptive family; however, the family is not like he envisioned it. After being attacked by his “step-sister,” he realizes that his adoptive members are all vampires.
After hilariously figuring out that he cannot die or turn into a vampire even after being bitten, he is bribed to become their adoptive child. A hilarious tale of being raised by a vampire family begins!
Additionally, it was also announced that “A Couple of Cuckoos” will be revealing a new trailer and visuals for the upcoming anime adaptation sometime in September.
These new announcements and reveals are great news for the mangaka’s fans and the readers of the rom-com genre! The new series is sure to tangle you up in its crazy story if the one-shot is anything to go by.

A Couple of Cuckoos or Cuckoo’s Fiance is a manga by Miki Yoshiwara. It was launched in January 2020 in the Weekly Shounen Magazine.
Nagi and Erika were switched at birth and never knew their real parents. On the day that Nagi was supposed to meet his natural parents, he encounters Erika and is roped into helping her out of an arranged marriage.
Both of them pretend to be girlfriend and boyfriend only to realize later that they are actually fated to marry each other.
