A Couple of Cuckoos, the manga fuelled by misunderstandings and unexpected comedy, is ready to receive an anime next year.
The series starts with an unsuspecting protagonist who was switched at birth and is about to meet his real parents. Little does he know that the moment he stepped out from his house, he had signed up for a rom-com life with no escape.
A Couple of Cuckoos anime will premiere in 2022 and a new trailer has been released.
If you had thought that Umino only has a single love interest in this manga, then you cannot be more wrong. The trailer introduces Hiro Segawa, Umino’s classmate who likes him.
She is a competitive girl who does not want to give up on the guy she likes. Yet, just like Umino, she is also engaged to someone. I will leave the identity of this mysterious person to your imagination as I don’t want to spoil anything else.
A new visual is also revealed to highlight the relationship between Nagi and Hiro.
The visual is in the typical Miki Yoshiwara style as all his cover pages are styled as social media posts.
Nao Toyama is joining the anime’s cast to voice Hiro. She has previously voices Chiho Sasaki in The Devil is a Part-Timer anime.
Studio Shinei Animation and Synergy SP are producing the anime and the staff members have also been revealed:

A previous trailer had highlighted the hilarious situations that Umino will be facing soon. Well, hilarious for us, but pretty mortifying for him.
Still, with multiple girls who don’t want to lose him, he should be feeling lucky. The anime might remind you of Girlfriend Girlfriend, but the harem setup is their only similarity as Umino wants nothing more than peace, while the girls regularly mess up his life.

A Couple of Cuckoos or Cuckoo’s Fiance is a manga by Miki Yoshiwara. It was launched in January 2020 in the Weekly Shounen Magazine.
Nagi and Erika were switched at birth and never knew their real parents. On the day that Nagi was supposed to meet his natural parents, he encounters Erika and is roped into helping her out of an arranged marriage.
Both of them pretend to be girlfriend and boyfriend only to realize later that they are actually fated to marry each other.
