1. How to obtain Research Points in Planet Coaster 2?
The key to generating Research Points is to construct a Planet Coaster Workshop–
- Head to the Workshop in the Facilities section of the Build Menu.
- Drag and place it in your amusement park.
- Connect it to a path.
- The Workshop automatically hires a staff member and generates Research Points independently after it is placed.
2. Tips for the Workshop
- Keep your Workshop in a well-trafficked area for easy access.
- The workshop hires and manages itself automatically; you don’t need to worry about managing it closely.
- Research Points will accumulate; keep collecting them regularly.
3. Using Research Points in Planet Coaster 2
Once you start generating points, you can track them on the bottom-left of your screen. It is right next to the Park Rating.
Clicking on the Research Points icon takes you to the Research Menu, where you’ll see all items requiring Research Points to unlock.
Research Points are the primary currency to access new attractions, and you’ll need them to advance through each chapter in the Career Mode.
In Career Mode, you’ll need to complete each chapter to progress to the next level of research. However, there are no limiters in Sandbox Mode, and every construction is open. So, you can focus on unlocking rides in any order, though prior research may still be required.
