90 Day Fiance: Fans Raging Over Angela’s Child Molesting Daughter

It has been nearly a month since Scottie Deem, daughter of one of the stars of 90 Day Fiance Angela Deem, has been out on parole after a 15-month term.

In September 2018, Scottie had pleaded guilty to three counts of child molestation involving a minor boy and rewarded three concurrent jail terms of 20 years. Since then fans of the show have been split over whether Angela should be allowed to continue in the show as a consequence of her daughter’s actions.

Scottie was originally charged with at least 13 counts of aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy. She later pleaded guilty to three counts and received the said jail terms.

Scottie was to serve in prison for at least 20 years starting September 2018. However, she is out on parole after only 15 months and warned against coming anywhere near children, which includes public places with children.

As the details of Scottie’s case continue to pour out in the media, fans don’t want Angela to have anything to do with the show.

What was Scottie’s guilt?

According to the victim’s grandmother, Scottie Deem was supposedly a good friend of the family.

Speaking to the RadarOnline, she said, “Scottie had the boy at her home while her boyfriend was out of town. While the kid was there with her and her children, Ms. Deem had sexual intercourse with the boy. This incident happened two to three times at Ms. Deem’s home.”

Scottie was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, which is said to have happened around July 1, 2017. She was accused of not just molestation but even for having intercourse with the said minor at her home. All this was allegedly done in the presence of at least 3 other minors.

Scottie was booked at Jeff Davis Detention Center on September 27, 2017, only to be released a day later on a $38,700 bond.

As for Angela, the mother is always supporting her daughter, albeit in a cryptic manner.

Shortly after Scottie went to prison, Angela took to Facebook, stating, “Sometimes people try to destroy you, precisely because they recognize your power — not because they don’t see it, but because they see it and don’t want it to exist.”

After being granted parole until January 31, 2021, Scottie has now been enlisted in the Sex Offenders’ List in Georgia and asked to stay away from children at all costs.

What are fans saying?

Following her release, Scottie even took to social media, sharing a picture on June 3, of her family participating in one of the many Black Lives Matter rallies that broke out around the country.

A majority of the show’s fans reacted negatively to the incident, talking to social media to share their concerns about seeing a criminal on their favourite TV show. They even expressed their worries about Scottie being let out too easily for the crimes she had committed.

“I’m speechless! I bet dollars to donuts that she’s around those children at Angela’s house. Part of her sentencing, I believe, states says she can’t be around children.”

“What the actual f*ck?! How can that sh*t even happen? I’m disgusted. I must say I weirdly used to like Angela, but I want her off.

I know people aren’t their children’s crimes, but this is sick, and I want none of it around my TV, other than on the news reporting on how this woman is back in prison. I can’t even imagine how her victim must feel.

This must feel completely invalidating; this boy’s trauma matters, and this is unacceptable!” added another user.

Meanwhile, there were those, albeit very few, who were of the opinion that a daughter’s actions shouldn’t hurt the prospects of the mother.

“You can’t blame Angela for the action of her adult daughter. I don’t see anyone blaming Geoffrey’s mom or his children or anyone else. Just because Angela is the ‘famous’ one people are taking it out on her? That’s dumb.” another user wrote.

After a bittersweet relationship with the fans, Angela had taken her own sweet time to build a rapport with the audiences. Angela herself had a tryst with the law after she was caught for drunken driving. But the incident with Scottie has only worsened her public image.

While on the show, Angela had obtained the K-1 Visa to meet and marry fiance Michael Ilesanmi for 90 days. The interracial couple got married earlier this year in a ceremony in Nigeria.
