Yesterday, Ubisoft announced a 50-player MMO extreme sports title, under the name of Riders Republic for the current-gen and next-gen consoles and PCs, coming next February.
So far, Ubisoft has delved into various genres ranging anywhere from the action, platformer, first-person shooters to open-world titles!
It’s almost as if Ubisoft is looking to dominate the next-generation of video games with their upcoming line-up!
Their newest addition to the line-up seems to reaffirm this fact, with the developers now working on an extreme sports title.
But it isn’t like any other extreme sports video game that you’ll find in the marketplace.
It’s actually an MMO that offers up to 50 players in any one type of extreme sport, which is pretty amazing considering how up until now, video game developers and publishers other than Ubisoft haven’t properly utilized the infinite amounts of untapped potential that this genre has.
Not to mention, Steep’s developers, another extreme sports game released back in 2016, are working on Riders Republic.
If we consider how Steep was an utterly enthralling game with good, albeit less-polished mechanics, we can safely say that Riders Republic will be just as good, if not better.
What can we expect from the game?
Coming to the trailer itself, the tone of the game seems much goofier than 2016’s Steep, and seems to feature even more different kinds of sports and locales for us to explore, either with our friends or on our own!
The in-game world of Riders Republic seems to be inspired by different the United States National Parks.
All in all, the game honestly looks quite fun to play and a good dose for all the adrenaline-junkies!
Now, let’s all hope that it does not use pay-to-win mechanics, because who doesn’t love that, am I right?
