Boons are a unique gameplay feature in Hades 2. These boons are special abilities that are provided by featuring characters to the players. Icarus, the famous Greek mythological figure, offers some of the best boons (also known as inventions in this case) in the game.

Even though 10 Magick is not that big of a deal, it can be a deal-breaker for some of the gamers, thus Explosive Intent sits at the last place on this list.
4Hazard Boom
Hazard Boom is the best-attacking invention that Icarus offers in Hades 2. This boon makes all your casts also blast the area (covered in a particular region) after 4 seconds, dealing 500 damage to all the enemies.
500 is an absurd amount of damage, especially, when you are dealing with a large group of foes in close range, making this boon super effective. However, there is a catch. If you get caught up in the casts range, then it will also deal 20 damage to you, so make sure to run far away within 4 seconds of your casts.
3Supply Chain
This boon provides the players with +10 healing and 3 Pom Slices each time they clear 5 encounters. The Pom slices level up a randomly equipped boon by 1 level, which can enhance its effects significantly. Therefore equipping the supply chain can provide real good support and be a handy invention through and through.
2Protective Coating
With Protective Coating, players gain +80 armor and the next time they lose all of their armor, they become invincible for 8 seconds. This boon is immensely helpful for making a longer run in Hades 2, especially if you are struggling to reach Eris in Rift of Thessaly.
Protective Coating is completely a defensive boon, the 8 seconds’ invincibility helps a lot in pushing through the hordes of enemies and making a longer run until you achieve perfection.
1Destructive Coating
Destructive Coating is the best Icarus invention in Hades 2 because it provides a perfect balance of attack and defense buffs, which is much required for a successful run. It provides players with +40 armor and when they lose their armor next time it deals a massive 4,000 damage to nearby enemies.
Players, who find it easy to reach Eris may choose this boon, and blast Eris with the absurd 4,000 damage. However, having less armor may cause difficulty in completing the run. Therefore, you may choose Destructive coating as per your need.
