The eccentric-and-somewhat-blurry middle school love of Kaede Komura and Ai Mie will catch your attention this summer. What starts as an innocent crush develops into a strong friendship. However, Mie’s near-sightedness leads to funny situations which would not happen otherwise.
Kaede is sure to feel perplexed by his feelings and the awkwardness. Is there any chance of this becoming a romantic relationship?
On Friday, the official website for The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses anime series released a new trailer and visual. The trailer previews the opening song for the series.
The video shows the two main characters, Kaede Komura and Ai Mie. Ai can be seen squinting her eyes to see clearly. Kaede tries to help her out and even hands over her glasses. He cannot hide his nervousness around her, though.
In the video, the opening song, “NAME,” is performed by Tsuzuri, which is also her debut song. DECO*27 has written the lyrics, and Shota Horie composed and arranged the song.
Masahiro Itou will voice Kaede Komura and Shion Wakayama will voice Ai Mie.
The visual above shows Kaede (visible in the reflection) looking at a frowning Ai through her glasses. Although she is not smiling, she does in her glasses.
Studio GoHands is producing the series with Susumu Kudo as the chief director and Katsumasa Yokomine as the director. The scripts are written by Tamazo Yanagi. Takayuki Uchida is designing the characters, and Jimmy Thumb P is composing the music.
Since its first trailer, I have been curious about what kind of stories will be shared with a concept as simple as this. The background looks slightly off, but this might be a new style. As for the anime, I hope it does not get monotonous or add too many running gags.
About The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses or “Sukimega” (Suki na Ko ga Megane o Wasureta) is a romantic comedy manga series written and illustrated by Koume Fujichika.
It follows the spectacled girl Ai Mie and her deskmate, Kaede Komura, who is in love with her. Kaede wants Ai to notice him, and finds her adorable when she’s squiting her eyes after forgetting her glasses.
Ai has a tendency to forget her glasses and Kaede often helps her out because of it. Unknown to Ai, Kaede’s feelings keep on growing and soon he becomes the person she looks forward to seeing despite the bad eyesight.
