Rein’s only ability is taming animals. As a result, he’s thrown out of the hero’s party, until he ups his skills and gains some new powers that make him stronger.
Along with Kanade, a member of the cat tribe, Rein begins a quest to tame other creatures from powerful races, all while gaining new abilities with each contract he forms.
This high-fantasy will be adapted from the light novel The Beast Tamer Who Was Exiled from His Party Meets a Cat Girl From the Strongest Race written by Suzu Miyama.
23 Bibliophile Princess
–
–
Based on the light novel by Satsuki Shiina, this historical fantasy-romance is sure to charm its way onto your screens.
If Belle from Beauty and the Beast is anything to go by, Eliana Bernstein and her book obsession will definitely be one princess we’ll all be invested in.
22 I’ve Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills
–
–
Hasn’t the name already piqued your interest? This seinen series will be based on the light novel by Shobonnu about Al Wayne, an ordinary guy whose best skill is farming. Yes, farming.
He’s reached the topmost level of this skill, and now he must defeat demon lords with his holy vegetables.
21 The Eminence in Shadow
–
–
Cid, the protagonist, yearns to be the mastermind, the archetype behind the hero’s success and the villain’s failure, the mysterious being who drives any story.
Being isekai-d into a fantasy world, this is his chance to make his dream come true. This dark, fun, ironic series is set to commentate on isekai tropes while also revelling in them.
20 Bocchi the Rock!
–
–
Bocchi the Rock! is a slice-of-life comedy anime series about a high school girl called Hitori Gotou who dreams of being in a band. Only problem is, that she’s shy as hell and doesn’t have a single friend.
When Nijika, a drummer looking for a guitarist comes along, things start to perk up. The fact that CloverWorks is producing this makes me hopeful.
19 Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit
–
–
If you’re looking for some laid-back shonen, Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit is something you should look forward to.
It’s about Aoi Yukimura and her childhood friend Hinata Kuraue, two girls with completely different personalities, who decide to embark on a mountaineering adventure to see a sunrise they once saw when they were younger.

The only catch is that if anyone finds out he’s human, he’ll instantly be eaten.
14 Golden Kamuy – Season 4
–
–
Golden Kamuy is one of Shueisha’s most well-known seinen series. It is written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. The anime adaptation has also been acclaimed, and now with it returning with season 4, it doesn’t look like Sugimori and Aspira are going anywhere.
Since the series is based on real-life history, fans are hoping that season 4 keeps all the important bits of the manga and maintains canonical and factual accuracy.
13 Kantai Collection – Season 2
–
–
Girls who can possess World War 2 naval ships? Count me in.
KanColle – short for Kantai Collection, is based on the game of the same name created by Kadokawa. The first season came out in 2015, which was well-received as the series focused on a storyline that wasn’t really present in the game.
The second season is sure to be better than the first. It will focus on Fubuki, the destroyer.
12 Raven of the Inner Palace
–
–
If you’ve read the light novel series by Koko Shirakawa, you know the anime adaptation of Raven of the Inner Palace is going to be nothing less that fantastic.
The story is set in a fictional version of ancient China, and is about the Raven Consort, who uses magic to take on any request.
When Emperor Koshun goes to visit the Raven Consort, history itself will be rewritten.

It’s about Fushi, a shapeshifting immortal being who eventually learns what it’s like to be truly human.

Where are all the psychological dark fantasy fans at? Uzumaki is going to be spectacular, especially after all the wait the pandemic has put us through. Uzumaki has been pushed thrice, but it’s finally releasing soon.
The series is about a fictional city plagued by a curse. It involves Kirie and Shuichi two high-schoolers, who witness how the spiral curse causes psychological and physical damage to the citizens of Kurouzu-cho.
9 Urusei Yatsura

From the human side we have Ataru, who has to tag the horns of the Oni Princess Lum, the daughter of the Oni leader. With Lum misinterpreting Ataru’s proposal to his girlfriend as a proposal to her, Ataru must choose wisely between Lum and his human girlfriend, Shinobu.
8 Reincarnated as a Sword
–
–
Reincarnated as a Sword is based on a light novel series written by Yuu Tanaka. It’s your normal isekai, except this time, the protagonist is reincarnated as an inanimate object.
A young slave called Fran discovers our protagonist – the sword – and uses him to free herself from slavery.
If you enjoyed That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, keep an eye out for this one.
7 Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury
–
–
A lot of people really loved Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans that came out in 2015. The new MSG anime series won’t be related to the first, but you can be sure that you’ll love it because it retains that amazing mecha action.
The protagonist is a female this time, called Suletta Mercury, who wants to become a mobile suit pilot.
From the prologue, I sense a mecha-human relationship theme as well, kind of like Evangelion, which really makes me look forward to this one.
6 Blue Lock
–
–
Blue Lock is originally a shonen manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. If you’re a football-lover, this series is definitely for you, since it revolves around FIFA and the Japanese football union.
Blue Lock is a training regimen designed to hone the best striker for the team. Yoichi Isagai, the protagonist, aims to join the league and master the program to become the best player in the world.
5 Spy Family – Season 1, Part 2
–
–
Spy x Family quickly became one of the most famous anime series of 2022. This spy action-comedy is about a fake family with very real connections. Loid, the husband, is a spy, Yor, the wife, is an assassin, and Anya, the daughter, is a mind-reader.
Tatsuya Endo’s manga is still ongoing. While season 1 focused on Loid trying to complete his mission, season 2 will be more about the thickening bond between the 3 and will also feature Bond, the Forgers’ new dog!
4 Chainsaw Man
–
–
You already know this one. I mean, the news that Chainsaw Man is premiering this fall has spread like wildfire.
The anime will closely adapt Fujimoto’s action-horror manga, which is about teens and devils, psychological trauma and the yakuza.
3 My Hero Academia – Season 6
–
–
Everyone’s favorite academy is back this fall. MHA promises a darker and fiercer new season as the Paranormal Liberation War arc from the manga is going to be adapted.
We can expect Izuku Midoriya to track down the League of Villains and harness the full power of the One for All to counter the traitor at U.A.
2 Mob Psycho – Season 3
–
–
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been pining for Mob Psycho’s third installment ever since season 2 ended. The show is brilliant, the perfect mix of emotion, drama, comedy, and the supernatural.
This season, our protagonist Kageyama will get introspective about his life, questioning his choices and decisions, his past and future.
I’m excited to see Kageyama further develop his esper skills as well as his character, but most of all, I’m waiting for Mob to go full psycho-100.
1 Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
–
–
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the most anticipated anime series of 2022. This is the first time Bleach, one of anime’s Big Three, will return to screens after 2012. It will adapt the Thousand Year Blood War arc from the manga, and will premiere worldwide on October 11.
We’ll get to see Ichigo Kurosaki return to Soul Society to fight against the Quincy empire of Wandenreich, the final enemy being possibly stronger than Aizen.
The release is the perfect way to celebrate Bleach’s 21st anniversary.
